Paul Higbee joins us for the September 5th First Saturday Brunch. He will talk about Henry Anderson’s life story and how he helped make Deadwood and Sturgis what they are today.
Brunch is served at 10 am and costs $5 or free with membership; presentation at 10:30 am is free to all. Reservations are required for the brunch or just the presentation; call 605-723-1200. Please let us know if you must cancel.

New! Temporary exhibit “Ghost Towns, Ghost Times” is opening Saturday, August 29 to give you the shivers! Learn about Black Hills mining towns that sort of disappeared--almost. We were delighted to welcome relatives of Seth Bullock to the Tri-State Museum and Visitor Center today. From left to right: Bob Royaf, Nancy Anderson, Graham Kislingbury (great nephew), Linda Kislingbury (great niece), Deb Royaf (great niece), and Doug Vollgraff (great nephew). They toured the museum and cabin, and visited with several staff members. It was great to welcome them to our city!

KIDS! We have a fun event coming this Saturday, August 22! “A Day for Art” has two classes: PreK – 3rd grade from 10 am to noon, and a class for older kids from 1 pm to 3 pm. This is an introduction to famous art and artists and the opportunity to draw or paint your own masterpiece. Each class is $2 per person or free with museum membership. The Tri-State Museum’s friends at the Dinosaurs of the Hell Creek Museum are sponsoring a new Rock, Mineral, and Fossil Show! They have 25 vendors lined up, selling rocks, minerals, fossils, handmade jewelry, arts and crafts, and local South Dakota products. Plus karaoke contests, musicians and Beer Garden. A fun, locally friendly event with only $10 museum admission/person all week. Free to check out vendors booths. Show dates are Saturday, August 15, 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday, August 16, 10 am to 5 pm, 11324 US Highway 212, Belle Fourche SD. For more information call 605-569-9899.
