The 3rd Annual ART & SEEK has concluded!
CONGRATULATIONS to the Santiago Family! The kids were just bursting with Joy and their father, Mateo, is an absolutely fabulous man!

The sculpture was hidden behind the enormous steel gate created by Thomas Kovacs at the Learning Center entrance to Theler.

There *WILL* be a 4th Annual ART & SEEK, so better luck to all of you in the spring! I am looking for 2 or 3 fine artists who would love to be a part of this next time....

THE GAME IS AFOOT!

Belfair's very own, 3rd Annual ART & Seek is on! My spies tell me that with the dawn brought the first sculpture hunters to trail system!

I'm not going to post all of the rules here again, but ,the basic rule is to please be respectful that this is a nature preserve and many people who use it, use it for the peace and quiet...

If you look at one of my previous posts this week all the rules are there.

If you are the one who finds this sculpture, it is yours to keep forever and ever!

I am also having an open Studio day so if you want to stop by and say hello to the weirdo behind the Belfair Morning Report, feel free to stop in and say hi.

Last heads-up before the 3rd Annual Art and Seek!!

ART & SEEK STARTS TOMORROW MORNING!

Some time before 07:00, this $450 sculpture will magically appear somewhere in the Theler Wetlands Trail System!

The park hours are Dawn to Dusk and the hunt will be ON!

If it isn't found on Tomorrow, clues will start going out bright and early Sunday until it IS found!

If you find this sculpture, you get to keep the model of this Monumental peace forever!

LOCATION:
The Theler Wetlands Nature Preserve in BELFAIR, WASHINGTON

RULES OF THE GAME:

1. NO DOGS or bikes. They are not allowed in the nature preserve.

2. BE RESPECTFUL. This is a nature preserve. Other people are there for the solitude and quiet; please don't spoil it for them. No yelling and screaming. (If this becomes a problem, this event won't happen again (and next time MORE ARTISTS are planned!))

3. STAY ON THE TRAILS. The sculpture will be very near the trails, albeit camouflaged in some way.

4. NO RUNNING. Speed will not be your friend! You will never find the sculpture if you're not observant... You might even see some amazing birds and animals as you look around!

5. NO FIGHTING! On the off chance 2 or more people find the sculpture at same time, there will be a solution attached to the sculpture! (This could come more into play if it isn't found Saturday and hints begin on Sunday.) This also means you could do this with a friend and let THE SCULPTURE decide who gets it! 😃

The actual sculpture is pictured here! It's appropriately 10" high & not too heavy, so you can carry it over your head like you just won a 1st prize trophy!

EXTRA DETAILS & HELPFUL HINTS:

● On the map, the red lines are every trail in the preserve... the sculpture is along one of them.

● The art will NOT be sitting in the middle of a trail.... That would be boring!

● On the other hand, it will NOT be buried under a 2 foot deep pile of leaves.

● If your eyes look at its location AND you're paying attention, you will SEE IT without touching a thing!

● IT IS NOT SIGNED! But my studio is a 1/2 mile up hwy 3, and I will be waiting for you all weekend. I want to meet you and sign the sculpture! If you want to visit, now is your chance! My address:

3rd Annual ART & SEEK this weekend; rght here in Belfair, Washington!

Starting when Theler Wetlands opens this Saturday morning, the hunt will be on! I am inviting all local art lovers to walk in the beauty of our very own Wetland Wildlife Refuge and search for this sculpture (the small one people! 🤣) It's valued at $450, but it will be yours for free when you find it! [The large sculpture is now available for sale!]

When you discover it, come by my studio and meet the Artist as well as have your original artwork signed! Others are also welcome to stop by the studio this weekend and say hello.

Rules and details come tomorrow! The rules are basically the existing rules for Theler Wetlands, but I will spell them out so we treat the area and other visitors with respect.

An entire 2 days... With a 14' tall sculpture, a new mounting system needed to be created. It's always difficult with a new piece!

This sculpture can stand on its own, have tabs and bolted down, or invisible mounting points for s permanent installation... as a studio piece, I need to design for all contingencies. Thr brackets are hand-created.
