Two weeks ago, Air Heritage Aviation Museum hosted a special event at the hangar designed specifically for canines and their handlers. This unique seminar was organized by Michael McMannus of Ready, Sit, Go Dog Training, in collaboration with Tammi Potts and Melissa Sowa. The focus of the event was on scent-work, a growing sport established by the National Association of Canine Scent Work, LLC (NACSW). In this sport, dogs are trained to detect and identify specific scents, competing for titles and ribbons at events held across the United States.
The Air Heritage Aviation Museum was selected as the venue for this seminar due to its distinctive setting. The museum’s aircraft and exhibits provided a challenging and stimulating environment for the dogs to search and locate hidden scents. The event offered both dogs and handlers a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills in a real-world scenario. If you would like to learn more about canine scent-work, please contact Tammi Potts https://www.facebook.com/tammi.potts/photos or Melissa Sowa https://www.facebook.com/melissa.sowa.2025
If you are interested in reserving Air Heritage Aviation Museum for your own special event, please contact the museum at [email protected].
