We're just 3 days away from our "out of this world" experience, the annual Tyrrell Park Nature and Visitor Center Star Party! πŸ’«

Please join us Friday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m. as we look to the skies for a little astrological discovery, fun talks about our solar system and more. As the sun goes down, the fun will heat up.

Partners joining us will be the Astronomical Society of Southeast Texas (ASSET), Beaumont Children's Museum, Big Thicket National Preserve, Lamar Institute of Technology, Sabine Neches Chapter, Texas Master Naturalist, and Village Creek State Park - Texas Parks and Wildlife. We will have telescopes on hand for curious explorers to use, and you're also welcome to bring your own. Parking will be available onsite (please follow directional signage), and our gift shop will be open.

For the best experience, dress comfortably for the weather and being outdoors (bug spray is encouraged), bring your lawn chairs, water bottles, and a red-light flashlight. We can't wait to see you all on Friday as we make this another stellar event!

We're wrapping up our 2026 Summer Series: β€œCould Bigfoot Live Here?” on July 28 from

swamps, and marshes, our junior naturalists are heading to the shore to discover what lives
where the land meets the Gulf.

If your family has been with us all summer – thank you! And if this is your first session, it's not too late to join in. As always, advance registration is required and it's completely FREE.

Today was a SCARY good time with our curious little naturalists! πŸ‘£

We discussed, explored and discovered Big Foot and one of our most prominent Southeast Texas ecosystems: the FOREST 🌳 🌲πŸͺ΅πŸͺΎ. Our junior explorers created forest creature masks, had hands-on experiences, and talked through Big Foot lore with Nature Center manager Ms. Rebecca as well as our friends from the Sabine Neches Chapter, Texas Master Naturalist.

Thank you to everyone who came out and stayed through the weather, and we hope you’re registered for next week’s SWAMP 🌾🐊 exploration session. It’s going to be…BIG. πŸ‘€

πŸ‘£ Something big is coming to Tyrrell Park this summer – and we mean BIG.

Introducing our 2026 Summer Series: Could Bigfoot Live Here? We’re partnering with the Sabine Neches Chapter, Texas Master Naturalist for four FREE Tuesday morning nature sessions in July, designed for curious kids ages 6–12!

We're kicking things off on July 7 with the forest πŸŒ²πŸŒ³β€“ exploring the towering trees, hidden
creatures, and shadowy corners of Southeast Texas woodland. Could something large and
mysterious be lurking between those pines? There’s only one way to find out.

Kids can join us for one session or all four – each week is a brand new habitat and a brand new adventure. Attendance is FREE, but advance registration is REQUIRED for each session, so don't wait!
