RED, RIGHT, RETURN.
Sounds simple enough.
Until you’re actually on the water and think…
🤔 Returning from WHERE?
The boat ramp?
My fishing spot?
Home?! 😂
And while we’re at it—what do the numbers mean? Which side of the markers should I be on? And why does that sandbar suddenly look WAY closer than it did five minutes ago?
Knowing how to read channel markers and aids to navigation can be the difference between confidently navigating the water and wondering if you’re about to become very familiar with that sandbar.
That’s exactly why we teach it in our Adult Powerboat Class.
🧭 Navigation aids & channel markers
🚤 Practical boat handling
⚓ Docking & anchoring
🌊 Wind, tides, currents & wakes
🛟 Rules of the Road & boating safety
Small classes and hands-on instruction mean you’ll spend real time at the helm putting it all together.

Less “Where am I supposed to go?” More “I know exactly what that marker
means.”

Man, how time flies! ⛵️☀️💙

How has it already been almost THREE WEEKS since Junior Sailing wrapped up?! We’ve been a little busy rebuilding a website over here 😅… but there was absolutely no way we were letting this incredible summer sail by without a proper photo dump!

And WHAT. A. SUMMER. 🎉

252 STUDENTS! 🤯⛵️

That’s 252 young sailors learning new skills, building confidence, making friends, getting a little salty, having a whole lot of fun and creating some pretty great summer memories along the way.

And they had one heck of a crew cheering them on!

A HUGE thank you to our amazing Level 1 & Level 2 instructors, instructors-in-training and parent liaison volunteers, who brought the energy, patience, encouragement and fun every single day — all under the guidance of Brad Baker and Susan Payson.

To our sailors: We miss you already! 💙

We miss the boats. We miss the sails. We miss the laughter. We miss the controlled chaos. 😂 And we definitely miss looking out and seeing the water FULL of Junior Sailing boats.

So, better late than never…

📸 JUNIOR SAILING PHOTO DUMP!📸

Here’s to an unforgettable summer on the water. ⛵️☀️🌊

Docking: the moment every new boater suddenly forgets everything they know. 😅

Too fast? Too slow? Wrong angle? Is the wind pushing me? Why is everyone on the dock WATCHING?!

If pulling up to the dock makes your heart rate climb, our Adult Powerboat Class is for you.

This isn’t a sit-and-listen class. You’ll get hands-on practice at the helm with experienced U.S. Coast Guard–licensed Captains and no more than three students per boat.

You’ll practice:
⚓ Docking techniques
🚤 Slow-speed boat handling
🧭 Navigation aids & Rules of the Road
🌊 Wind, tides, currents & wakes
🛟 Anchoring, safety procedures & more

Because docking shouldn’t require a prayer, three people yelling directions, and someone jumping onto the dock with a rope. 😂

Build your skills. Build your confidence. Take the helm.

“How do I dock this thing?”
“What if I stall?”
“Am I doing this right?”
“And what exactly does red, right, return mean?!”

If you're having these thoughts, you’re definitely not alone.

Our Adult Powerboat Class is designed to turn those please-don’t-let-me-hit-the-dock moments into confidence on the water.

With hands-on instruction and small class sizes, you’ll spend real time at the helm learning practical skills like boat handling, docking, navigation, anchoring and on-the-water safety.

Small classes
Hands-on instruction
Real-world boating skills
More confidence behind the wheel

Whether you’re a brand-new boater or just want to feel more comfortable taking the boat out on your own, this class is for you.

Less “What do I do?!” More “I’ve got this.”
