Beattie Museum

10/17/2026

This Sunday the 18th Oct. the Museum will be open from 10 to 1pm.
The temperature is coming down. It makes a lot nicer to get out and review, bring back memories, learn more of the history of Beattie.
It’s fall everyone, I suggest you should pay attention to the fall colors that are around and coming.

With and amazing number of visitors over the Milo Festival weekend we have had several appointments call to tour.
We are open the 3rd Sunday of each month. If a big holiday comes on that weekend we may not open unless someone makes and appointment.
I want to let everyone know we appreciate the feed back on the posts. I will apologize to everyone that I do not respond or communicate on Facebook. I would rather you call and talk or text me.
Hope you understand I’m not one to get into Facebook, just to post and let you know what is happening at the Museum.
If you are from out of town our new address is 412 Whiting Street, Beattie Ks.

I want to thank everyone that came to the Museum this past weekend. We had a large number to come and enjoy the history of Beattie. I heard so many say they want to come back and spend more time looking and reading about their friends or relatives of Beattie that are available to look up.
I was a little concerned that as humid and hot as it was that we maybe low in numbers to come out and visit the museum. I couldn’t have been more pleased that so many came.
We are planning on the 3rd Sunday of each month to be open from 10 to 1. If a holiday comes on that Sunday we may not open. I will sure and keep everyone posted to the best I can.
If you are in the Beattie area other than the 3rd Sunday give me a call or text me and I will do my best to have someone open the Museum for you.

Wanted to share with you that the Museum is progressing.
With the photo of my wife, she wanted everyone to know that the chairlift works great.
To be honest I was a little nervous to take Linda in and take a tour.
I used her as a guinea pig to see how a wheelchair and using the chairlift would work.
She said it was a great tour and everything worked good to get around. She also made comment that there has been a lot of work done, but she said you have a lot to do yet. Made me laugh, all I could say was yes Dear.
Opening date for the Museum will be not to far from now. Hopefully the Milo Fest. but don’t hold me to it.
That’s our goal.

I am sure that some are thinking that the new Museum has a lot of steps.
And you are right, but I feel we have a very good solution for that problem.
If you didn’t know there is a ramp on the north east corner that will get you up to the main floor. It is a long ramp but is a very good one. Then for you to go to the basement as you can see in the picture we have a chairlift.
Also if you can go down the few steps to the basement when you come in the south basement door you can ride the lift upstairs to the main floor.
So no worries for getting around in the new site for the Beattie Museum.
We also have a wheelchair if needed.
We are making progress but opening date in the future still.
