Gage County Historical Society & Museum

The Gage County Historical Society & Museum in historic downtown Beatrice, Nebraska. It is housed in the Burlington Railroad Depot built in 1906.

Gage County Historical Society and Museum is located in Beatrice on the corner of 2nd and Court streets. the depot was presented to the Gage County Historical Society by the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1973. The Museum's displays show the history of the industries, businesses, medicine, communities and the people of Gage County. The Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

✈️ Special Program – Saturday, June 27 at 1 PM
Step back into the Cold War era with us this Saturday! At 1:00 PM, Chris Swancara, joined by Kim Barnes, will present a fascinating program on the Ground Observation Corps (GOC) and the vital role volunteers played in the Beatrice and Filley sectors.

Throughout the day, Chris will also host an artifact table featuring original items used by Nebraska’s GOC observers. It’s a rare chance to see these pieces up close and learn how everyday citizens helped keep watch over our skies.

We’re also proud to highlight that the last remaining Ground Observation Corps post still standing in the United States is located in Filley, NE—a remarkable piece of local and national history.

• The Museum West Building
• The Municipal Auditorium
• The Rail

All three locations are just a short walk from the festivities, so you can park, stroll, and enjoy a full day of history, community, and celebration. We can’t wait to welcome you!

In the case of inclement weather, outdoor activities will be moved inside the Museum.
