Friends, we need your help! We're in need of 1980s artifacts for an upcoming "Back to the 80s" temporary exhibit. Still have your cassette tapes, leg warmers, boom box, California Raisins, collectible McDonalds glasses, or that wall phone with the 50-foot coiled cord? How about items with special Bay County 1980s connections?

We're accepting loaned items through October 23. All items will be returned in June 2027. If you have something to share, call us at 989-893-5733 or stop by (321 Washington Ave, Bay City) and we'd love to chat.

Let's bring back the 80s!

Today's the day! Join us at 1PM today for the premiere of the documentary "Lonely Teardrops," covering the amazing career of Detroit's Jackie Wilson.

Considered a master showman and one of the most dynamic singers of the 20th century, Wilson emerged as one of the top recording artists of the '50s and '60s and is credited as being an important figure in the transition of rhythm and blues into soul music. Berry Gordy Jr. co-wrote many of Wilson's early hits, and Gordy's success as a songwriter was his entrance into the music business. Following his decision to leave Wilson, Gordy established Motown -- the most successful independent record label in history.

The movie runs 25 mins and will feature a short introduction.

Cost (includes Museum admission):
FREE for Bay County residents
$2 individual / $5 family all other visitors
