Lori Roll, Artist Lori is a visual artist and art educator based in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Lori Roll learned about art, color and composition by observing nature as a student of photography at the University of Tulsa. She has worked with jewelry, collage, small environments, acrylic and oil painting, and has shown her work at galleries in Arizona, Maine and Oklahoma. She became interested in the encaustic art
form and cold wax medium due to their rich histories, fluidity and textural possibilities and considers herself a perennial student of these mediums.

Here it is folks. The Fall catalog for the Sedona Arts Center where I’m excited to be teaching my fourth year! Check out Sedona Arts Center (SAC), located in one of the most beautiful parts of the U.S. Students can enjoy and be inspired by the gorgeous scenery, relaxed atmosphere and plenty of hiking and dining after class. My class is my signature cold wax class which explores this expressive textural medium. Students find this to be a fun and freeing medium. Hope to see you there!

Rotator cuff repair surgery continues. One of my favorite movies and musical scores by Michael Nyman. Gorgeous, moody, passionate. ❤️‍🔥 I have taken to the piano after a very long hiatus. Not that I was concert material. Just playing for me. This piece “Silver-fingered fling” is the perfect starter piece for me (scroll to hear my attempt on my mother’s 80-year-old piano). It starts slow, somber and lilting but from here it goes into a frenetic bit which I can’t play. But it’s a beginning.
