Although it’s still “a decorating job in progress “, we are so happy to let everyone know that our renovations on the Eastern Sunroom are complete! At the time of the Library’s occupation here, this room was called “the children’s reading room”.

Our hope is to use this room for rotating monthly displays. Also, there are numerous items that, over these 40+ years, have never been on display and we hope to give them their due diligence!

Also, one large cabinet will be used for a Gift Shop! We have several books to sell, but will hope to have items such as tea cloths, pottery, etc in the near future.

For our first display, we are showcasing personal items donated several years ago from the family of a former Beauty Queen from Barnwell, Ruth Queen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Queen, formerly of Barnwell.

A little late in posting, but was awaiting extra photos that we haven’t received yet. Just wanted to thank the wonderful crowd who came to our Sunday, June 14 celebration of our Revolutionary War veteran, Col. Tarlton Brown.

A most entertaining and enlightening talk was given by our local Genealogist, Mr. Milton Harden. A highlight of Col. Brown’s life, his time in the Revolutionary War, and his subsequent years after.

Visitors then walked over to the Museum for a self guided tour and light refreshments.
