In observance of Black History Month, the Barnwell County Museum invites the public to come by and browse our literature and photos honoring African-American men and women from our local area. As a reminder, we are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from noon until 4 pm.

Milton Harden, former chairman of the Barnwell County Museum and Historical Board, was elected a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland this past November. Founded in 1780, the Society is dedicated to researching, protecting, and promoting Scotland’s history and cultural heritage in a multidisciplinary approach.

We are so proud for you Milton. We all know how proud you are of your Scottish heritage.

We are getting in the Christmas spirit here at the Barnwell County Museum! We are still showcasing our local military veterans memorabilia and/or photos through December. Please come by and visit with us next week!

Just a reminder that the Barnwell County Museum will be closed Thursday, November 27 as we observe Thanksgiving Day. We will return on Tuesday, December 2. Along with Christmas decorations, we will still continue to exhibit our Veterans photos and memorabilia at this time.

Need an afternoon outing? Come in and visit us here at the Barnwell County Museum! We are showcasing photos and memorabilia of local veterans here in Barnwell County.

Along with Veterans items, we have excellent displays of local arrowheads to honor Indigenous tribes who once lived in our area.

We are here Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from noon until 4pm.

During the month of November here at the Museum, we observe Native American Heritage Month, along with honoring our Veterans on Veterans Day.

Throughout the Museum we have placed local Veterans photos and memorabilia that have been loaned and donated through the years. Along with these items, we showcase various Native American arrowheads that were also donated through the years.

As a reminder, stop by on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from noon until 4pm.

**Reminder for our local Veterans. This Thursday, November 6, the office of Barnwell County Veterans Affairs will hold their annual Veterans dinner at 11am in our event room here at the Museum.
