Join us Wednesday night for Taproom Tales, an evening of storytelling where personal experiences meet the world of science! Inspired by storytelling events like The Moth, our storytellers will share memorable, touching, and surprising moments that show how science has shaped their lives.

Everyone is welcome! Grab some of Mason's Brewing Company awesome craft b**r and food, settle in for some great stories, and leave with a new appreciation for the human side of science.

Have you checked out our Maine Science Podcast lately?!

We had a great conversation with Megan Hess, the Public Works Director for the Town of Orono. Megan's science background focused on aquatic entomology and she entered town government work as an environmental specialist handling stormwater management and invasive species removal. Megan became the Director of Public Works for the Town of Orono in July 2026, and she leans into both her educational and work experience in science in this role.

Last Thursday we had the incredible honor of hosting the inaugural Maine Science Awards and what a night it was! ๐ŸŽ‰ From inspiring speeches to showcasing the vast range of science being done right here in Maine, the evening was a wonderful reminder that science is truly everywhere in our state. Maineโ€™s scientific community is exceeding expectations, leading the way, and making this state and the world a better place, and we could not be more proud to help shine a spotlight on that work. We cannot wait to do it all again next year!

If you noticed something a little unique about our award gifts, you are not wrong! From the very first planning meeting, before the selection committee had even reviewed a single submission, we knew we wanted to give each honoree a personalized bat from Dove Tail Bats. And in a very wonderfully Maine full circle moment, Dove Tail Bats ended up being one of our award winners, which meant we got to present them with one of their very own bats. So fun!
