Brought down during the winter storm of 2025-2026, the logo street sign of the International Cryptozoology Museum (tm) is being lifted aloof and reinstalled at 490 Broadway, Bangor, Maine, on 11 August 2026!

It’s a sign! Come see us as the International Cryptozoology Museum - only in Bangor, Maine. We love our new sign, the first of two being installed. They used to call these “shingles” because businesses would paint their signs on wooded roof shingles split from cedar logs and hang them above their doors. We’re open from 10-6pm seven days a week in our unique historic home at 490 Broadway!

Join us in the hunt at the International Cryptozoology Museum. We’ve collected 20,000 artifacts preserving the scientific study, art, popular culture, and ethnographic history of cryptozoology. We’re the world’s largest cryptozoology museum, and the only nonprofit museum doing this work. We hope you will come for a visit in our new 6000 square foot facility or support us with your membership!

Very excited to announce that we got our side parking lot poured today! We’re OPEN inside but for the next several days the new blacktop will be closed to auto traffic, so please park behind the building in our gravel lot and walk on the sidewalk across Earle Ave as you come to the front door via the front steps. Unfortunately this also means that the handicap access is much less accessible than normal, we apologize for the inconvenience of the longer walk!

You never know what you might see at the International Cryptozoology Museum in Bangor, Maine. We have over 20,000 artifacts on display at the world’s oldest cryptozoology museum! We’re open 10-6 seven days a week, and admission is only $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
