For Art's Sake

For Art's Sake An art school based on creativity, involvement and inspiration. Creating Art for Art's Sake!

For Art's Sake was born out of a need to have a space to create art, in an environment that is relaxed, fun and fosters creativity. Art and creativity are an essential ingredient to development and are the key to enabling a divergent thought process. Through creative expression we develop our decision making and problem solving skills, along with gaining insight to the endless possibilities of ima

gination. Sarah Moon, the teacher here at for Art's Sake has a background in early childhood education, a B.A. in Art Education from the University of Maine, in addition to being a mom to three spirited girls. " I find joy in encouraging passion for art in others and to do so, from my own studio, invites my community in to share in that experience."

I'd like to thank all of the artists I had the joy of working with and all of the parents that supported their children's creativity! I have taken a position at a local school, but will always have a special place in my heart for our after school classes.

art for art's sake definition

A slogan meaning that the beauty of the fine arts is reason enough for pursuing them — that art does not have to serve purposes taken from politics, religion, economics, and so on. Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Edgar Allan Poe, and Oscar Wilde argued for the doctrine of art for art's sake.
