Founded in 1881 by John Rogan, the business began as a stonecutting operation during an era when Bangor was thriving as a lumber town. Rogan’s quickly earned a reputation for quality craftsmanship in creating headstones, monuments, and grave markers. Over three generations of family ownership, it became a pillar of compassionate service in the Greater Bangor area.

After Jack Rogan (the founder’s grandson) sold the business, it passed to Dick and Sue Coffin, who stewarded it for 15 years. In 2013, it transitioned to Dick’s stepson Chuck and his wife Stacey Downes (with Chuck having worked there since 2003). The company now operates from its main location at 8 Fifteenth Street in Bangor, with additional locations in Lincoln and Bucksport.

Now Chuck has brought his children (Justice and Morgan) into the business as he has also launched Stone Artisans from the Bucksport location.

This is a Hardscaping Service specializing in Granite Patios, Walkways, Fire Pits, Benches, and Countertops!
