Load of Fun Arts Load of Fun Arts was 20 Artists Studios, 34 artists, 4 Theater groups, and 2 Theaters in the Station North Arts District of Baltimore, MD.

Load of Fun was shut down overnight by the City of Baltimore in 2013 on the pretext of a Zoning violation.

A brief question for those Artists of ‘Retirement Age’ (who don't ever really retire). Like myself, so many of us survive on the most minimal of Social Security. So few of us have a retirement nest egg. So many of us live alone with spouses departed. And so many of us live with daily medical challenges that if it weren't for Medicare would have us in the poorhouse long ago. After all the years of uncompensated cultural work we contributed to Baltimore City over the years isn't there some kind of Cultural Fund or Foundation that sees the need to support us as we age? How do you as an older artist care for your future?
