Our Town Clerk, Sharon George, is looking for 6 to 8 volunteers to assist her in updating our cemetery records. She is in the process of getting our Palmertown cemetery data digitized and will need volunteers to record the data found on grave stones there. This preservation project will compliment the recently completed ground penetrating radar survey conducted there this past summer. If this is something that interests you, please stop in to talk with Sharon or call her at 860-423-9634 ext 2.

This Saturday marks the end of the open house tours at the Edward Waldo House for this year. For those who made our season special for us we say thank you for stopping in and we were thrilled to have welcomed you. For the rest of you, we can make your visit memorable if you give us a chance. Join us for a special day, with tours starting at 11 am and the final tour departing at 2 pm.

The Edward Waldo House will be open for tours this Saturday, September 5th, from 11 AM to 3 PM, with the last tour starting at 2 PM. Visitors can enjoy the scenic views of the Waldo Valley property while exploring the two-story colonial home, built around 1715, which contains possessions from five generations of the Waldo family. Docent Henry Bowers will share informative personal stories about the many members of the Waldo family who lived in or near this ancestral home.
