👩‍🎨📚 This upcoming Saturday at 2 p.m., BAC is excited to host a Book Art Gallery Talk with artists Lucia Harrison and Paige Pettibon.

Lucia Harrison and Paige Pettibon, two of the Puget Sound Book Artists members exhibited at BAC in October, will talk about their own artwork and the wide variety of forms that artist-made books can take on Saturday, October 10, at 2 p.m. in the BAC gallery.

Lucia will introduce the concept of an artist-made book, explore the decisions that book artists make, and present her Pacific Northwest Native Plant Magic Book project, which can be downloaded and assembled at home. Paige will discuss her artwork, including her “Food is Abundance” recipe zine. Participants will be invited to fold their own copy of the zine to take with them.

Lucia Harrison is a Tacoma based artist whose artwork draws attention to the natural and human history of South Puget Sound, focusing on the connection between native plants and animals.

Paige Pettibon, also from Tacoma, is a multidisciplinary artist. Her work reflects her Black, White, and Salish (Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes) heritage, drawing from this rich cultural background to explore themes of identity, culture, and community.

🔆 Introducing LUMINOUS!

Bainbridge Arts & Crafts’ October exhibition, LUMINOUS!, This exhibition celebrates the brilliant arc of Northwest art glass with work by early masters Robert Carlson, Steve Maslach, and Keke Cribbs and recent work from Trenton Quiocho, Gregory Lastrapes and Alicia Lomne, shown with atmospheric abstract paintings by Port Townsend artist Jeanne Toal. 💡🔆⚡️

🧑‍🏫 Student art glass from Hilltop Artists (Tacoma) is showcased in BAC’s retail gallery.

🎟️ A vessel gifted by internationally known glass artist Robert Carlson will be raffled to benefit BAC’s community outreach programs.

🥂Opening reception during First Friday Art Walk, October 2nd, 6-8 PM

ARTIST HIGHLIGHT 👨‍🎨 For our show Comfort, we have work from Dale Larson. Dale has been woodturning for over 48 years! The wood he uses is primarily from the Northwest, and his wood selection mainly comes from trees that have died or been excavated. Dale’s work holds a beautiful connection to functional handcrafted items and the northwestern land that surrounds us.

Come see Comfort at Bainbridge Arts & Crafts, the exhibition will be up until September 27th.

Last night was the First Friday Art Walk on Bainbridge Island and the opening of BAC’s show Comfort 🍁🍂 Thank you for all those who attended and the beautiful artists who are showing their handmade, meticulous, and stunning creations.
