What brings you back to BIMA?

Maybe it's seeing a new exhibition, connecting with community, or finding something unexpected. Since admission is always free at BIMA, the little moments that keep you coming back are open to everyone.

Please meet our 2026 BRAVA Native American & First Nations Artist winner, RYAN! Feddersen!

RYAN! is a visual artist based in Tacoma, WA whose practice includes studio works, site-specific installations, and public art. She uses allegory, contemporary storytelling, and even interactive art to reexamine our relationships to history, culture, the land, and our non-human kin. RYAN! grew up in Wenatchee is a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, from the Okanogan and Arrow Lakes bands, and of mixed settler heritage.

Our new fall exhibitions are NOW ON VIEW at BIMA!

"Booking: Artists' Books by Black Artists," guest curated by Colette Gaiter, brings together a collection of artists' books that explore Black histories, identities, and futures. The show reimagines the book in many ways, from storytelling to cultural memory and resistance.

"Pratt Fine Arts Center @ 50" is a celebration of a Pacific Northwest community arts hub and the impact Pratt has had on artists, community, and the broader region since 1976. This group show features over 75 artists across many mediums.

"Patricia Orellana: Within Reach" is a solo exhibition of whimsy in paint and print by local artist Patricia Orellana.

BIMA is open 7 days a week and admission to the galleries is always free! Come by and explore our new shows today.

Our monthly Open Book Tours put select artists' books where they are meant to be—in the hands of readers like you! You'll hear more about each artist and the stories behind their work as you directly explore each artists' book.

Teens are invited to sneak into the Bainbridge library for a night of unnerving and chilling fun! On Friday, October 16, we’ll host a teen after-hours lock-in from 6:30 to 9 pm. Enjoy trivia, crafts, a movie, treats, a tarot-inspired writing activity, and more! Costumes are obviously encouraged. We’re so proud to celebrate BIMA Board Member, Chasity Malatesta, who has been named one of YWCA Kitsap County’s 2026 Women of Achievement honorees and will receive the Linda K. Joyce Award!

Chasity brings so much thoughtfulness, care, and heart to the work she does as an educator and equity advocate. We’re especially grateful to have her bring that same perspective to BIMA through her service on our Board of Directors.

Please join us in congratulating Chasity on this well-deserved recognition!
