Did you miss our Big Boy open house? Stop by today or next Sunday, September 6 between 2 and 4 PM to see our latest addition to our museum, the Bad Axe big boy statue. There’s also Big boy memorabilia and Big Boy history on display. Also stop by to hear the unique song “I found my baby in Bad Axe.“
This Sunday and next Sunday are the last two days of our regular season.
The Bad Axe big boy statue is at our Bad Axe Museum of local history at 303 N. Port Crescent St. Also visit our Pioneer Log Village located at 205 S. Hanselman St.
This is a great rainy, dreary day activity.

UPDATE! Due to high chance of rain, thunderstorm, possible heavy rain & hail concerns, we have made the decision to postpone our Big Boy Open House Event until tomorrow Sunday 8/23 from 1-4pm.
The forecast is much better for the public and we hope that you all can come and celebrate with us.

2026 Financial & Membership Campaign. We couldn't have done all the projects without the help of our community. Donations go toward our utilities and upkeep of our properties. We are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff.

We have a temporary sign at our bad axe museum of local history and are painting the frame for a new sign right now. We have been very busy with a lot of different projects and planning upcoming activities. 
Stop by to see our new flip panel display board which includes a lot of cool, Bad Axe, history and photos. 
We will be open this Sunday from 2 to 4 PM (at both locations).

Come see our new flip panel display  this Sunday, and every Sunday, from 2-4 PM until Labor Day weekend. It is located at our Bad Axe museum of local history (AKA Allen House) at 303 North Port Crescent Street.

Our active member and volunteer David McDonald put together some wonderful pages of Bad Axe history, including:
Wally, Nellie, and Thelma Allen (The family that built and donated our Museum),  information about the very unique Camperdown Elm tree, our local railroads, including the grand trunk, history of our hotels, and bad axe grain elevators… 
This is a very nice, professional Display and is a work in progress. It is meant to be expanded upon and more panels added in the future. 
We hope you’ll come visit to see what we have to offer.

This Memorial Day Weekend - We want to thank those that made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the military. Thinking of them and their families. Thinking of Memorial Day and Memories, take a stroll down our engraved brick pavers to see names of people and businesses from our areas past and present. Located at the Bad Axe Museum of Local History.
We have been busy and have a lot planned for this year. One thing is a new display panel rack showing local history at our Bad Axe Museum of Local History. Like, follow and share us to keep updated on what is happening!

TBT - Interesting Newspaper article from 1987 about a wedding dress display at the Bad Axe Historical Society showing dresses spanning 100 years - from 1861 - 1962. This display was at their old location which was on the second floor of the old Bad Axe City Hall, which is now torn down.
On a side note, I recognize one of the phone numbers at the end of the article, My grandmothers - Fern Copeland 269-6506 who was a past president. Anyone know who was 269-8165.
