Somehow May is already over 😳

Who remembers when we kicked things off with the opening of “Prismatica” during the Avondale Wine and Art Walk? The neighborhood was BUZZING with live music, interactive workshops, plein air painting, artist markets, and people wandering the sidewalks with wine glasses in hand 🍷

The best part? “Prismatica” is still up and looking fabulous 💅 Stop by the Avondale Art Center today from 10am-2pm to catch the show before it’s gone.

We asked artist to tell us more about her stunning piece “Girl Talk” featured in Prismatica ✨

‘Girl Talk gives us a glimpse into the relationship of two women. are they chatting? gossiping? exchanging secrets? The women dawn opposite color palettes that are tied together by a phone cord. This interdisciplinary piece interacts with the idea that these women may have more than what meets the eye; perhaps they are lovers separated by distance yearning for a connection.’

Now we have to know… what do you think they’re talking about? 👀📞💭

CALL FOR ARTISTS 📣

The Avondale Arts Alliance is now accepting submissions for our upcoming group exhibition celebrating artwork at the extremes of scale. We’re looking for:

🐞 Tiny framed works under 8 inches
🐋 Massive works up to 10 feet

If it’s ridiculously small or gloriously oversized, we want to see it.
