This house on 9th Street was built in 1889 for Thomas Harvey Gill. It is one of the few surviving buildings featured in Joseph Wells' oil painting from that same year! You can see the 1889 Joseph Wells painting of Avalon at the History Center. Admission is always free and we are open Monday through Saturday. 215 39th St. 🏠🎨

Speaking of history, the Avalon garden club was making a little history of their own today as they celebrate their 50th anniversary and today, hosted a rite of spring in Avalon, the Avalon Garden Club Flower Show. amazing floral presentation as you would expect.
