About the Series
Sketchbook Series is a 2-D workshop with a focus on foundational studies in drawing, collage, and painting. The series is aimed at beginners who are looking to better understand different processes or want to supplement what they already know with additional techniques.

What Will I learn?
The series is split into three disciplines with two classes per discipline. Participants are encouraged to take the full series, but have the flexibility to pick and choose which classes they would like to take.

Session 1:
This class is geared to be a no-pressure introduction into drawing with a focus on contour line, value, and ‘Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain’ exercises.

First Hour: Timed 1, 5, and 10 minute drawings switching from contour line techniques to value/shading techniques.
Second Hour: Two 30 minute hand drawings using a transparency grid (Betty Edwards, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain).
Take away - 2 hand drawings
