They come from every branch. They were nominated by their commands, selected by their peers, and recognized in front of a community that wanted them to know their service matters.

This is our final highlight video from the 50th Annual Armed Forces Recognition Luncheon, and it belongs to all of them. To every service member honored, to the civilians who have given their careers to this community, and to the leaders who have shaped what this region looks like today, thank you.

Here's to the next fifty years of saying thank you.

Some people talk about supporting the military community. Rick Crandall built a memorial, led a council, and has stood at this microphone for years to prove it.

As the founder and president of the Colorado Freedom Memorial, Rick turned a moment of discovery at Normandy into more than 6,000 names on glass in Aurora...a place where every Colorado family can come to grieve, reflect, and honor their fallen. As Chair of the Buckley Regional Military Affairs Council, he has convened mayors, commissioners, business leaders, and military commanders to make sure the needs of our defense community are never an afterthought. And for years, as the voice of this event, he has told the stories of our junior enlisted service members to rooms full of people who leave caring more than when they walked in.

A few weeks ago, the Association of Defense Communities recognized Rick with the Defense Community Champion Award. We were not going to let another day go by without giving him his flowers in front of the community that knows him best.

Rick, thank you for everything you have built, everything you have tended, and everything you continue to fight for. This community is better because of you.

As Military Appreciation Month comes to a close, we wanted to share a meaningful moment from the 50th Annual Armed Forces Recognition Luncheon.

For 50 years, this luncheon has honored the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces. And for about half of those years, one man has stood on this stage and delivered a live tribute that has become the heartbeat of this event.

This year, we had the opportunity to recognize George Peck for the legacy he has built through his words, his presence, and his unwavering commitment to honoring those who serve.

For decades, George has reminded our community why service matters, why remembrance matters, and why promises kept should never be forgotten.

Thank you, George, for every year, every word, and every reminder of the promises kept by those who serve.
