The Art of Derby

Hello Artists, Derby Fans, and Supporters. Now that fall is crisp in the air we have had questions about The Art of Derby.
Unfortunately the venue space we have used for the previous 3 events is not available for the time being, but we will plan on returning next year. For right now we understand that the Chicago Outfit Roller Derby has a similar event in the works, spreading derby and art, and with some artists that we ourselves had the pleasure of hosting. So we wish them a successful event.

First Fridays on Oct. 7 welcomes fall with a Pop Up Shop at the old Waubonsee College building, a new art gallery on the lower level of the old library, Waubonsee's Wood Fire Conference at three venues, and more.

I know artists get the wrap for being "procrastinators"....but get those applications and entry fees in.

Application can be found in our photos as a jpeg. If you like a pdf formate, just message us and we'll get you a copy asap.
You can message them back to us once filled out, or email them to [email protected]
Vendors also only pay $15 ( I have 2 spots open still) You will get half of a 6ft table, 1 chair, and table cloth provided. You just have to provide your own bank for your sales.
Entry fees are paid via paypal, made out to [email protected]

Keep the questions coming, keep the word spreading.
We know you are planning on doing it, just plan on turing in those applications too!!!

Are we ready to make some art?! Great!!! Just fill out this application, and make your entry payment of $15 on paypal to

All proceeds go to putting on this event, to place cards for art pieces, special Art of Derby buttons, to the snacks and beverages served the night of.

Few things that are different from our first Art of Derby is...

1. That any art work sold will 100% go to the Artist. No collection will be made off of your art work, you made it, you sold it, it goes to your pocket, you choose what you'd like to do with it afterwards, maybe buy us a beer?

2. All leagues being represented, please bring your fliers and put them on the counter to display. Let's promote local roller derby!

3. Vendor Row, last year we had requests on craft like, or multiple small items up for sale, we will have 4 spots open for vendors, but it is up to you to hold your own bank. So if you make derby jewelry, or have stuff that comes in multiples that you'd like to keep tabs on and be in charge of selling, we do have spots for you this year. First sign up, first serve.
