We are pleased to introduce Motorcycle Cannonball Rider #11 Billy Page of El Dorado KS. Billy will be riding his 1916 Harley-Davidson JD alongside his father Bill Page #10. Billy also participated in the 2019 Cross Country Chase as well as past Cannonballs. Read Billy’s bio below:
“Motorcycles have literally played some sort of role throughout my entire life, thanks to my dad. When I was four years old he bought me my very first one and I’ve been hooked ever since. In the 2016 Cannonball I rode along as my dad’s pit crew, and in 2018 I rode along beside him on a 1916 twin Harley Davidson. It was the adventure of a lifetime but also one of the most physically and mentally challenging things I’ve ever done. I’m looking forward to riding along beside him again in 2020 on 1915 single cylinder Harley’s. We hope that everyone follows along with us as we post pictures and updates every day and I’m looking forward to meeting new friends along the way.”

WOW! 1927 Harley with under 800 original miles.
SHAW MFG.-- GALESBURG,KANSAS "In the nineteenth century, Stanley Shaw first invented his own steam engine. At the dawn of the motoring age Stanley Shaw invented his own gas engine. By 1903 the "Shaw Manufacturing Co." of Galesburg, Kansas advertised an engine kit for motorizing a bicycle in Popular Mechanics magazine for $90. The engine was 241 cc with dry cell battery ignition and a slip belt drive. Advertised cruising speed was 20 mph (32 km/h), with a maximum speed of 30 mph (48 km/h). By 1905 Shaw was mass producing his engines to convert bicycles to motorcycles. 1881 Stanley Wilbur Shaw was born on a farm near Galesburg, Kansas. 1895 Built his first steam engine. 1902 Built his first gasoline engine. 1903 Shaw Manufacturing Company established. Mr. Shaw started in a rented space in an old drug store. On one side he had a dealership for Elgin and Waltham watches with workbench and lathe. On the other side he had bike motors and machinery. 1905 Patented small gasoline air-cooled engine to convert bicycle to motorbike. More than 13,000 total production. 1962 Mr. Shaw sold the company to Bush Hog. Bush Hog destroyed serial number lists, records, advertisements and patterns. 1970 Public auction of the former Shaw Manufacturing. 1981 Stanley Shaw dies at 100 years of age. 1996 Public auction by Margaret Shaw (daughter of Stanley) of Shaw literature, records, parts, patterns, etc. stored in family garage built in 1911.

Scored some vintage pewter mugs.
We made it a point to go to this museum today. So glad we did. Kelly is super nice and funny. We loved hearing the stories from Jerry. Very interesting history. Paul gave us a tour of the first building and told us alot of history also. If you can make a trip there, you will see alot of cool stuff.
We will be there tomorrow riding from Tulsa.
Kelly. Thank you for the genuine hospitality. Your museum is much more than a testimony to your love of motorcycles. Your passion, and the way you share it with others makes it a testimony to your family, friends, and community. Hope we cross paths again out on road. Proud to have had the opportunity to shake your hand! Rickey-Lee
This makes so much sense! Finally, someone explained it!
Thank You for openlng the museum for us on our way through... Very nice.
Just over 2 weeks until one of the largest Midwest antique motorcycle shows in Lawrence, KS! https://www.facebook.com/events/2489165734658371/
Kelly, Jerry and everyone at Twisted Oz have a Merry Christmas.
