Tattoo history...
"La bella Angora", also called "Queen of the tattooed", was actually called Emma Schuster. She probably came from the Altmark in the north of Saxony-Anhalt, in Germany. There are several postcards and advertising cards on which "La bella Angora" is advertised as "The Old Market Beauty". There was a large breast eagle and a multi-jeweled necklace tattooed on her body. She was one of the few tattooed women whose feet were also tattooed.
She claimed to have been tattooed by savages in distant lands against her will. This claim contributed significantly to its enormous popularity. In reality, however, she was tattooed by the Hamburg tattoo artist Christoph Lein, later he moved to Erfurt / Thuringia. She has performed in Europe and overseas. It was commercially so successful that there are countless photos, postcards and advertising posters of it.
The Münchner Allgemeine Zeitung wrote the following about its appearance at the Munich Oktoberfest 1891: "The skin of the pretty lady shines and feels like velvet; the nudity appears to be completely eliminated".
"La bella Angora" was married to her impresario (manager) Julius Becker. He got tattooed in 1908 and appeared under the stage name "Don Manuelo".

Do you know about Fordite?

Fordite, also known as Detroit agate, is old automobile paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It was formed from the built up [sic] of layers of enamel paint slag on tracks and skids on which cars were hand spray-painted (a now automated process), which have been baked numerous times.

An oddly compelling photo of FRANCOIS FRATELLINI (1879-1951). He was known as Whiteface the circus clown from Paris, France, a National-playing member of the Fratellini Family. He had two brothers, Paul and Albert, also circus clowns. He is seen here playing a National W-Series Triolian.

A Museum for the Entire Family

Come One! Come All! Come See! Pexcho's American Dime Museum is THE Cultural Experience of the 21st Century, and You and Your Entire Family are Invited!

A Faithful recreation of late 19th Century and early 20th Century Dime Museums, and inspired by Dick Horne's American Dime Museum in Baltimore, Maryland (closed in 2006), and P.T. Barnum's 5-story American Museum in New York City (which Burned to the ground in 1865), Pexcho's American Dime Museum will bring Wonderment, Disbelief, Amazement and Laughter to Children and Adults alike.

Aside from the different Attractions, the Museum also promotes Educational ends, including Natural History in its Menageries, an Aquarium (which features Rare Exotic Fish), and Taxidermy Exhibits; History in its Photographs, Illustrations, Wax Figures, and Memorabilia; and Fostering the Idea, that a Child's Imagination & Curiosity is Timeless.

In the "Lecture Room", the Museum will feature Discussions on a variety of Subject Matter, including Philosophy, Poetry, Current Events and Music. ALIVE! Pexcho's American Dime Museum will host many Modern Human Oddities, as well as visitations from Famous Living Freaks, traveling from across the Planet to showcase their Natural Gifts and Learned Skills.

I came in this past Friday and during the tour I noticed some cool taxidermy related things. I told Peter Excho about this restaurant in Jacksonville that has a VAST collection of animals. They were acquired over the years and I believe some were collected from a zoo (don't quote me). Anyway, I found the info and thought it may be fun to share. We go every time we drive through Jacksonville. Pics in comments!
Thanks you for open the doors always enjoy coming by and see your shop the show was amazing tonight can't wait til the next one
