End the year on a fun note and join us on Saturday, October 24th for our Fall Wreath class. Using corn husks, dried herbs, and other natural elements, create a unique, one-of-a-kind wreath to adorn your front door, hang over your fireplace, give as a gift, the possibilities are endless!

The usual time,1:30 PM - 3:30 PM and place, APM Program Room.

Class is LIMITED to 20 participants. And sign-up is REQUIRED.

What a great day on Saturday during the Corn Husk Craft program.

We lost count of how many corn husk dolls were actually made, but it was close to 2 dozen. Different sizes, whole families, even a dog! Lol

Enjoy the pics and consider joining us for the last program and hands-on class of the season on October 24th ~ Fall Wreaths, using only natural elements. Dried, dyed Corn Husks ready for the History and Hands-on Corn Husk Craft class tomorrow!!

Did you know, Corn Husk Dolls have been around since 1000 CE??? If you attended the class you'd learn many more fun facts have a chance to try your hand at this centuries old art....

And, luckily for tomorrow's participants, we took on the task of prepping because there were some casualties during the dyeing process . . . after scrubbing some still remains. But not to worry ~ it says it will wear off in 3 - 5 days, lol. 🫤

Jim & Michelle Fisher, Airstreamers and YouTube celebrities were traveling from Arizona to Michigan and stopped in Atlanta on May 5, 2026. They recently finished their video on Chasing GIANTS on Route 66.

Atlanta, the Giants (when there were still only 3), the Atlanta Public Museum and our Weddings Through the Decades exhibit, and the Public Library are featured!! They really did Atlanta well in covering it.

Fall Harvest has started and Corn Husks are littering the fields . . . what to do with them?? Make Corn Husk decor of course!!!

Join us on Saturday, October 10th, 1:30 - 3:30 and learn the History and Art of Corn Husk Dolls and Wreaths to bring the Fall Season to your door and home.

The Atlanta Public Museum, the American Giant's Museum, and the Giant's Stop were so honored to welcome the 2026 GS (Gold Star) 500 group to Atlanta.

It is their 10th Annual Gold Star ride to Honor the Fallen.

We each received a signed commemorative poster signed by the riders. The Gold Star families signed in gold ink. ❤️🤍💙

Mud Cloth Class . . .

On Saturday, 9/19, the Museum held a Mud Cloth Class ~ covering the history and process of what it takes to make it.

The participants took to the process unbelievably quickly and really came up with some unique designs using the various symbols to create blocks with special meaning.

Below are just a few pics of their work. And the extra quilt blocks they made for the Museum will be made into a ceremonial quilt that will be put on display in our Native American room, coming Spring 2027.
