A quilt made of Monkey Wrench quilt blocks is said to be the first quilt displayed when the time had come for slaves to seek freedom on the Underground Railroad. Slaves understood this to mean "gather your tools for the journey".
This quilt block, and many others, along with Atlanta's Connection to the Underground Railroad, will be covered in Saturday's program.
