This is the post I’ve never wanted to write. My dearest friend and business partner, Lisa Heller, has passed away after her year-and-a-half-long struggle with cancer.
Lisa’s life was a beautiful one. Above all, she was so bright, a truly brilliant mind. Thoughtful, compassionate, and fair in all her dealings. She loved her husband, Rob, so much, and theirs was a true partnership of love and happiness. Her sons, Seth and Ben, were her greatest joy. Her face would light up as she told stories of their adventures, how proud she was of their every accomplishment, and of the fine, bright men they have become.
Not only was Lisa a brilliant attorney, but her love of jewelry and metalsmithing brought her great happiness. How blessed am I to have found myself accidentally in the jewelry world and to have stumbled upon a truly great friend and partner. Working with Lisa over the last three years on the Atlanta Contemporary Jewelry Show has been not only a professional high, but also a personal gift, bringing me a friend who fills my heart with joy and whose memory will live on through this show.
Please tell those you hold dear how much you love them. That would be a beautiful way to honor Lisa, for all she has done and for all the lives she touched.
