This is an incredible opportunity!

Join us this May and June at Settlers Museum in Virginia to restore the iconic Farmhouse!

Weekly volunteer sessions run from May 24-29, May 31 – June 5, June 7-12, June 14-19, and June 21-26.

Help us reinforce and restore the upstairs porch of the Farmhouse, repair water damage on the ceiling and walls of the West bedroom to prevent further deterioration of the property, paint siding to refresh appearances and extend the exterior lifespan, address chimney flashing which may include masonry repair, and replace cedar roof on the nearby Meat House.

Go to https://historicorps.org/settlers-museum-farmhouse-va-2026/ to access this incredible opportunity and register to volunteer at Settlers Museum Farmhouse with us this spring!

This is going to be a great year!

2026 is coming sooner than you think, and we've been cooking up a fresh batch of projects for our upcoming season. One of the places we're most earnest to get our work gloves on is the Farmhouse at the Settler's Museum in southwestern Virginia! Oh, and did we mention is right along the famous Appalachian Trail?!

This incredible 67 acre open air museum hosts a schoolhouse built in 1894, museum, and a 19th century farm that includes the incredible multi-story farmhouse we'll be setting our sights on come 2026! One thing for certain is when you visit the Settler's Museum, it becomes quite apparent how much exciting preservation work is needed across the MANY historic buildings spread throughout the compound.

HistoriCorps is excited to kick start our first project here next season and we hope you'll keep this one on the list for 2026!
