Hanthorn Cannery Foundation

Hanthorn Cannery Foundation The HCF is a museum in the Pier 39 building. Built in 1875, one of the oldest buildings on the Coast. We are open 24/7 and there is no admission fee!

The Hanthorn Cannery Museum is located at Pier 39 in Astoria Oregon. Our building was constructed in 1875 and our museum chronicles the history of the fishing industry on the Lower Columbia River. Pier 39 is home to the Coffee Girl, Rogue Brewery, and the Hanthorn Crab Company. It is an outstanding building on the Columbia River, a must see on your next visit. We are the turnaround for the Astoria Trolley.

I am experiencing a range of emotions and feel powerless due to the fire in Ilwaco. It's like losing a close acquaintance or family member, leaving me with a deep sense of sorrow. There is an overwhelming amount of information and I am struggling to process it all.

My heart goes out to our neighbors, the local crab industry, affected families, and small businesses. This tragedy has had a profound impact on us as a community.

Please find attached the 1929-1930 CRPA Asset Documentation for the Ilwaco Cannery, as that
is all we have to offer after the fact.

I know we could have done more if called upon to do so, had we known.

As the temperature rises, please be mindful of the road conditions during your journeys. Limited operations will be available at Pier39-Astoria today, featuring Coffee Girl and other businesses. Exercise extra care when navigating the slippery docks, and kindly acknowledge that most supply stores are currently out of stock on walkway salt and gravel.

** Missing/Endangered Female on the Astoria Riverwalk. ** PLEASE SHARE ASAP. A20190834

Around 4pm today Maya Sanders's mother called and reported her missing. Maya was last seen in the downtown area at noon. We have located some of Maya's property at 6th St. and a scarf was later located near the Comfort Suites on the Riverwalk. She may be walking eastbound towards where she resides in the Burnside area.

We are aware that Maya suffers from disabilities that may put her at higher risk if not located. She is not dressed for the weather, and does not have her cell phone.

Emergency personel and her family members are currently out looking for her. If anyone has seen Maya today AFTER 1:00 PM and can give us a time and direction of travel, we would appreciate it. Please call dispatch at (503)325-4411.

Her last sighting was at about 1:30PM crossing Marine Dr. at 16th St. We only need sighting info AFTER that time.

Maya was last seen wearing a long shirt that was black, white, and green in color. She had on pink shoes. She is a 29 year old female who is about 5'9" weighing about 130 lbs.
