Congratulations, Tammie Lane! We’re proud to celebrate our Resident Artist Tammie Lane on two exciting recognitions this year.

Tammie’s watercolor Full Moon Solstice was selected for Splash 27: Best of Watercolor, an international competition sponsored by Artists Magazine. Her work will be featured among 150 paintings selected for the 2026 publication.

She was also one of seven artists selected for Colorado 150: Highlighting Western Colorado’s Landscape & Spirit, a regional initiative celebrating Colorado’s 150th anniversary through art, landscape, and community. Tammie created two original works representing the spirit and character of the region.

Congratulations, Tammie, on these well-deserved recognitions! We’re so happy to have your work and creative practice as part of the Red Brick community.

“The beauty of the geographical landscape infuses the hearts and minds of the residents, particularly artists.” Chris Erickson, about his work In Bloom, a vibrant public art project bringing color, creativity, and a celebration of Aspen’s natural landscape into the heart of downtown.

“Using the flower as a form has been pervasive in my most recent work. With so much uncertainty in an increasingly turbulent world, the flower represents symmetry, joy, growth, and beauty.” He says.

Part of the Aspen Public Art Summer Program, In Bloom transforms pedestrian areas along the South Galena Street and East Cooper Avenue corridor with flower-inspired forms and bold colors.

Created in collaboration with the City of Aspen’s Engineering Department, the project brings public art and pedestrian safety together, creating spaces that encourage community connection while celebrating the landscape that inspires us.

🗓 On view through October 31, 2026

Meet Shawna Miller, one of the artists behind Nearness, opening on Thursday, August 13 from 5–7 PM.

A new exhibition exploring one of the most fundamental human desires: to see and to be seen. Featuring works by
Jack Fox , Shelly Safir Marolt , Shawna Miller

“I came to my art practice through motherhood.” Shawna Miller

Shawna’s paintings explore the intimacy of the mother-child connection, figures pressed so close together they read almost as one form, tethered in gesture and presence. These are not portraits of individuals so much as portraits of relation: of holding and being held, of dependence and continuity. In many works, she leaves her multicolored underpainting exposed — a window into her process and a metaphor for the layers of life underneath any seemingly refined surface.

A 2022 Aspen Art Museum Artist Fellow, Shawna is based in Basalt, Colorado, and her work has been shown throughout the Aspen Valley, in Manhattan, and in Oslo, Norway. 🌿

Come experience Nearness in person through October 16.

Meet Jack Fox, one of the artists behind Nearness, opening at the Red Brick on Thursday, August 13, 5 - 7pm. Alongside artists Shelly Safir Marolt and Shawna Miller.

Jack’s long-form photographic work lives in the surreal and the deeply intimate. Through his lens, he draws us into fleeting moments of youth, that liminal space where adolescence hovers between freedom and self-consciousness, where desire, joy, and introspection quietly coexist.

His images feel immediate and unguarded, inviting us not as distant observers, but as participants welcomed into someone else’s world.

Based in the Roaring Fork Valley, Jack serves as Studio Coordinator of Photography and New Media at Anderson Ranch Arts Center. His publications are held in the collections of the Harvard Houghton Library, the New York Public Library, and more.

Nearness, opening reception.
