The Red Brick Center for the Arts is Aspen’s creative hub that supports the thriving local arts scene and offers opportunities for art-making and other engagement. It features a gallery with rotating exhibitions, youth and adult art classes, Resident Artist’s studios, nonprofit offices, a meeting room and a dance studio available for rent, and free public events. Join us for Luz del Recuerdo, a Creative Happy Hour inspired by the beauty and meaning of Día de los Mu***os ✨

In this one-evening workshop, you’ll create your own glowing lantern using translucent vellum and warm LED candles, honoring the tradition of lighting a path so the spirits of loved ones can find their way back.

And the experience doesn’t end in the studio. Bring your lantern to Aspen’s community Día de los Mu***os ofrenda and add your light to a collective expression of remembrance and connection. 🧡

Memories from the artist reception of the City Hall Biennial Exhibition 🤍 and a reminder that this show is still on view and free for everyone to enjoy! Bring your friends, your family, or just yourself and take in an extraordinary collection of works by local and regional artists right in the heart of Aspen.

From large-scale snowflake photography and wildfire wood sculptures to abstract paintings and watercolors of the local landscape — this exhibition uniquely captures the essence of the Roaring Fork Valley.

Mark your calendar for not one, but two chances to try stained glass at the Red Brick with Clever Magpie Glass Works

This class is designed for pairs — partners, friends, or family — making it the perfect creative date night or outing.

Join Carly Price, artist and founder of Clever Magpie Glass Works, for an evening of hands-on stained glass making using the copper foil (Tiffany) method.

No experience needed — Carly’s teaching style is warm, clear, and step-by-step, so you’ll leave with a finished piece you’re actually proud of.

Working together, you’ll collaborate on a shared stained glass project or two smaller pieces using pre-cut honeycomb shapes. Think of it like a cooking class — we prep the ingredients, you assemble the magic. 🧡

Red Brick Center for the Arts took part of the Aspen Design Conference this September with two powerful events, and can’t be more honored!

The weekend opened with a moving welcome to the land led by Ute Tribal Member Skyler Lomahaftewa at Paepcke Park, grounding everyone in the history and presence of the place we gathered on.

The following morning, samharveyart and Joseph Santiago-Joseph Santiago-Dieppa took the stage at the Wheeler Opera House for Thinking Through Things — a conversation, a debate, and a sparring match all at once — moderated by our Executive Director Sarah Roy.

Thank you Rachel for a summer full of color. 💛

Shifting Light by Rachel Hayes comes down this Monday, October 5, and if you haven’t experienced it yet, this is your last chance!

Suspended above Aspen’s historic brick streets, ten hand-sewn fabric panels danced in the mountain breeze all summer long, shifting and glowing as the light changed throughout the day, framing the trees and mountain sky in bold geometric color, and transforming the Mall into something both whimsical and serene.

Inspired by traditional log-cabin quilts, abstract painting, stained glass, and covered open-air corridors from around the world, each panel is built outward from a single piece of fabric, handmade, intimate, and impossible to miss.
