The SAC Aerospace Museum, located between Lincoln and Omaha near Interstate 80, utilizes over 300,000 square feet of exhibit, education, and event space to educate, inspire, and entertain its guests. Organized in 1959, the original mission of the museum was to commemorate the contributions of the Strategic Air Command, which until 1992 was headquartered at Offutt Air Force Base. The museum houses

an impressive collection of military aircraft and other artifacts, many of which have been restored in the museum’s on-site restoration facility. As part of its commitment to education, the museum has recently established a partnership with the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Office of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Education to provide cutting-edge educational opportunities for student, teachers, families, and adult learners. Traveling exhibits, permanent exhibits, and a variety of special events provide additional unique experiences for the museum’s members and visitors.

SAC Members are invited to preview our latest exhibit before it opens to the public! 2theXtreme: Math Alive! Member Night will be on June 2nd from 5pm - 7pm.

Ride in a live-action snowboard race, control a Mars rover, record your own weather telecast, capture your image in a 360 freeze-motion video. Experience real STEM and math at work in sports, nature, robotics, music, dancing, movie-making and more!

This weeks camp spotlight is Wings and Things: Flying Creatures!

What do birds, bats, and bugs have to do with aviation? Join us for a camp that explores all things that fly! Learn about how a bat’s sonar differs from airplane sonar, how the structure of a bird’s wing inspired early aviators, and why a bug’s camouflage is so important to modern-day military airplanes!
