9am - Presentation at the Visitors Center
To Celebrate America's 250th anniversary and the lasting legacy of the Santa Fe Trail. Hear from Michael Grauer on the importance of preserving the Trail's history, landscapes, and stories for future generations. Come connect, learn, and celebrate our shared heritage.
10am - Shelby Log Cabin, American flag raising
The Friends of Arrow Rock, will raise a period appropriate American flag on the newly
erected wooden flag pole. The flag is historically accurate for the year 1829. Many thanks to Monte Holder for building and installing the flag pole.
11am - Impromptu Parade
Line up in front of the schoolhouse and down 8th Street at 10:45. Grand Marshals this year will be Joel Rhodes and his wife Jeanie. Joel is the new executive director of the State Historical Society of Missouri.
11:30am - Reading of the Declaration of Independence
This will take place in front of the courthouse, following the parade. The Declaration will be read by several Arrow Rock residents and visitors alike.
Noon - Potluck, carry-in lunch on the Miller-Bradford Lawn
Bring your favorite dish with enough to share. Bratwurst, buns and all the fixings, including plates and silverware are provided. Drinks, including lemonade, iced tea, and water will be provided.
1pm - Arrow Rock Ferry Landing Site Tour
Located down the hill, north at the end of 7th Street. The Ferry Landing site is at the top of a hill on the left-hand side. Parking is available at the bottom of the hill. Sturdy shoes are required for the steep hill climb. The climb is not for the faint-of-heart. Carpooling is encouraged.
