I have taken about a six month break from Painting, but I got interested in urban sketching again and was involved in that and it seems like I just jump all over the place. But Ali Kay offered a portrait challenge recently and I painted my portrait then I became interested in the other lessons she had on painting portraits. This is my first lesson, little girl portrait. It is an acrylic 8 x 10 by 7/8” Cradle on a da Vinci pro panel it is a hardboard and gessoed surface. The sides are left neutral with a satin finish. It is available on my daily paintwork site. At the Station 15005

This was painted in the Carolyn Riegelman workshop in Denton, TX in a wonderful venue on Hickory Street but very near the train tracks so we heard each train as it arrived. This painting as a lot of texture as I used an older, half finished piece for the base and added some Venetian plaster in places. The painting has gray sides on gallery wrapped canvas 1 1/2” deep. It is not signed on the front so it could be hung in different orientations.

Alpha and Omega 15008 30x15”

This was painted in Denton at a workshop. I am taking a Bible Study Fellowship study of Revelation and in Revelation 1:11 Jesus Christ refers to Himself as the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last. I used large foam letters to stamp in the A and O and smaller stencils for the other letters. I added some “scribble-scrabble” lettering at the base of the work. It is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas.

This mixed media acrylic abstract was painted in the Filomena Booth Big and Bold workshop in Irving Texas. The 1 1/2” gallery wrapped textured canvas has sides painted with micaceous iron oxide giving it a very dark gray with a few glimmer spots. The painting is not signed on the front but on the sides so it could be hung in any configuration. 🎨

This 30x30” mixed media abstract is painted on a gallery wrapped textured canvas with 1 1/2” depth sides painted in a gray with micaceous iron oxide (gives it a few glimmers). It is signed on the side so it could be turned for a different orientation.

It is a large piece 40 x 30 with sides of 1.5 inches painted black on a gallery wrapped canvas. This is my first painting posted in 2024 and I have not posted anything since October 24, 2023 and I haven’t painted since then. I have been taking a break, cooking for Thanksgiving and Christmas and recently studying and taking some urban sketching classes and working in my sketchbook. I plan to resume my painting schedule soon.
