Today that we celebrate Valentine’s Day, I share with you this memory when couple of years ago, I won the second place at McLean Prjects for the Art and the paint was sold! It was a romantic painting of Paris which for me is a romantic city. My hair was blond I prefer my color now.

“Romanian Landscape” Original Oil 16x20. $700. Sold ((Comission)

As you could see in the previous video, this is another version of the comission that I was requested to do from a Romanian client who has very fond memories of a 100 years old painting that she had in her parents house. I used my artistic license to change the colors, to make it a happier winter scene and now in this one I added the Romanian National Anthem which is very beautiful.
Question for you: which music background you like the most?

Dear Friends:

A client of Romania asked me to reproduce a painting like one hundred years old that was already damaged in her parents house that brings her beautiful memories. And I asked her if I could use my artistic license to give it more life and she accepted. Yesterday, finally I finished it. But I will wait to have a sunny day to take a picture of my work. Here is the photo of the original and some previews of my own version.

“Peeking at you”. 18x18. Oil on Panel. $800.

As you may see dear followers this is the first time that I decided to paint like the Old Masters on Panel instead of a Canvas. I love it! I think the effects are much better over wood. But to be sincere is much more work given that oil glides easily and is difficult to control.
Special thanks to Ketan Khambhatta Photography an international award photographer for letting me use some of his images.

Dear Followers:

As I am starting to work in my next big cat, I returned and stared again to my last painting of “Strong Leopard with a Black background “
and decided to do some changes in her eyes so they would look more expressive like in the original picture that graciously Beverly Joubert Photography lent to me. Tell me what do you think? The first one is before and the second one is after 😉

My newest painting while being Mexico. Thanks to Fabiola Sanchez my cousin who lent me the image to paint it and add my original touch.. “A colorful sunset in Houston” 16x20 Original Oil $550. Not framed.

I am so happy that this painting that I have just finished has got already a new home. It is sold! In case you want to commission me the same one, I will do it. Normally I paint the same one maximum five times no more. With different touches each one. So you can have an original one. I am not a fan of gyclees, which are a printed copy of a painting with some brush strokes added.

Art has multiple forms of expression, among them painting and singing. I decided in this video to combine those two forms by showing you some of my earlier and latest paintings set to the beautiful voice of my friend and accomplished tenor Enrique de Allende Hope you enjoy (and don’t forget to “like” his and my page if you do)!

I volunteer for painting the McLean High School iconic rock for the graduates this 2020. It looks so simple but it took me almost ten hours of hard work with acrylics that I don’t like as much as oil because you can blend them very well and they dry so fast and doesn’t get the dramatic effects of the oil. At the end of the day, I was very happy with the results and in the next pictures you can see the details. My husband help me holding an umbrella for me, because the sun was very intense, 🤗 not without mentioning that the rock was painted in red. And my friend Nora did the undertone of white because the rock was painted in red and still I had to add tones of white!

A previous sketch from a Zebra that I am working now. Zebras are gorgeous animals they fascinate me! I didn’t know that the reason why they have stripes is to protect them in the sabanas from insects. Thanks to my friend Anna Fernau who is a great photographer who kindly let me based my painting in one of her beautiful photographs.

Why I love painting?

I am originally from Mexico City. My art career technically started at the age of twelve whe I won a loca children’s art show in Taxco, Mexico. Later in Law School all of my classmates enjoyed our professor’s caricatures. I have taken several painting courses at the Arlington Arts Center, and being under the tutelage of Natasha Mokina who is a faculty member of the Corcoran College of Art and Design.

My works are primarily in oil, characterized by beautiful vivid colors. I paint landscapes, people, but my favorite subject are animals, they are beautiful creatures.
