In Rowena Federico Finn’s work, found materials like vintage maps, fairytale illustrations, and historical texts represent the shared narratives that reflect and shape cultural values.

In Liberté, Égalité, Fragilité, Finn has incorporated the text of the US Constitution. Created for the exhibition, the new work is suspended from the ceiling of the Chairmen’s Gallery.

The quilt-like forms are roughly the same size as the four pages of the actual Constitution. The text appears through the frosted but translucent capiz shells. Deciphering the text requires close and attentive looking and a commitment to absorbing the information.

Come see Liberté, Égalité, Fragilité alongside a selection of Rowena’s other mixed media work as part of Rowena Federico Finn: [fab-ri-keyt], up through September 13!

We were so thrilled to see this thoughtful, well researched writeup from 202 Arts about resident artist Rebecca Rivas-Rogers solo show “Attention to Detail.” The writer spent a lot of time with the work in the show, saying, “There’s a dreamlike quality to these paintings, like a studio half remembered through the fog of sleep and time.”

Thank you, ian, for taking the time to write this!

“Attention to Detail” is on view from now until Sept. 13, 2026, Wed - Sun from 12-5 pm.
