A story by Doug MacCash published August 10, 2021 in the New Orleans Advocate made this show possible. It launched a close friendship between New Orleans street artist, Walta Foca, and Mona Hardin, the mother of Ronald Greene. Over the years Hardin introduced Focq to other Louisiana mothers who had lost sons to police violence, for whom he also did street art, and with whom he collaborated to produce this show. Graffiti protest of Ronald Greene’s des was finished, ruined and finished again.

“Four Lost Sons” is an art show bringing awareness to these four tragedies. It’s also about trying to imagine the unimaginable: losing a child to unpunished racist police violence. It is a chance for the moms to have their say. The show includes several large multimedia paintings using methods ranging from blow-torched ceiling tiles and paint on silk to extrusions in polyester and carved drywall. Each artwork is accompanied by a personal letter to the viewer from the mother of the subject. The show marks the 7th anniversary of the killing of Ronald Greene.
