Metal Fabrication 2 students put their skills to work as they completed their custom bottle openers!

Using their lathe and milling machine skills, students also applied their math knowledge to calculate the precise degrees of taper needed to complete their projects.

Business, Marketing, Finance classes have been busy getting the school snack store up and running for the school year.

Students get hands on with stocking inventory, pricing products, menu design, counting money, working with spreadsheets, and market research.

🦺 Safety First in Metal Fab 1! 🔧

Our Metal Fab 1 students are getting hands-on with their NCCER Safety Certification! Today’s performance assessment included properly donning a fall protection harness and safely setting up a ladder.

These real-world skills are an important part of preparing our students for success in the workplace. Great job, Metal Fab 1, putting safety into practice! 👏

Metal Fab 2 machine shop students have officially completed their first project! 🔧🔥

Their first build? A functional meat tenderizer! 🥩⚙️

From measuring and machining to putting the finished product together, our students are gaining valuable hands-on experience and putting their skills to work. We’re excited to see what they tackle next!

Our Health Science students completed a Posture Lab this week! Students measured and evaluated their own body alignment while learning how proper posture supports overall health and how poor body alignment can contribute to discomfort, muscle strain, and other health concerns.

Hands-on activities like this help our students connect classroom concepts to real-world health and wellness!

What a great way to kick off the 2026-2027 school year!

It was such a blessing to have our entire Amory School District family back together for our Back-to-School Convocation. The energy, excitement, and fellowship were a great reminder of what makes our district so special. This was the first time in three years that we've been able to gather everyone together for this event, and it made the day even more meaningful.

We are incredibly grateful to First Assembly Church for graciously opening the doors of their beautiful facilities and allowing us to host both our fellowship breakfast and convocation. A special thank you to Pastor Justin Myers for sharing such a wonderful and encouraging message. It was the perfect way to begin the school year and a meaningful reminder of the purpose behind the work we do each day.

A heartfelt thank you to Broaddus & Associates for generously sponsoring our breakfast, and to Leisa Howell and Pam Sullivan for preparing a delicious meal, with help from Derrick Maranto. Your generosity, hospitality, and willingness to serve helped make the morning a tremendous success.

As we begin a new school year, we are excited about the opportunities ahead and the impact we will make together. We are ready to Forge The Gold Standard for our students, our schools, and our community.

This week, our Amory Career and Technical Center instructors attended the Mississippi ACTE Convention in Biloxi!

During the conference, they participated in professional development, explored new teaching strategies, and collaborated with Career and Technical Education educators from across the state.

We’re excited to bring what we learned back to the classroom and put it into action this school year!

As we close out this school year, we also celebrate two incredible women whose impact on the Amory Career and Technical Center will be felt for years to come.

Happy Retirement to Misty Adams, Teacher Academy Instructor, and Shae King, Student Services Coordinator! Thank you both for the dedication, compassion, leadership, and countless ways you have invested in our students, staff, and school family.

Your hard work and servant hearts have helped shape the future of so many students, and your presence will truly be missed at the ACTC. We are grateful for the legacy you leave behind and excited for the new adventures ahead.
