The Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo, CA is the new home for Brookville No.2.
The Descanso, Alpine & Pacific Railway is Alpine's only operating two foot gauge railway. The railroad operates on Sunday from 1 to 3pm and rides are free!
The Descanso, Alpine & Pacific Railway consists of about a quarter mile of two foot gauge track on the north side of Alpine Heights. The railroad serves; Shade Depot, El Pozo and High Pass, where a 112 foot long wood trestle is located. The main motive power is an original 1935 Brookville Locomotive from the Carthage Crushed Limestone Company. The rolling stock ranges from original mining cars to homebuilt cabooses and riding cars. The DAPR offers free rides to the public from 1 to 3pm on Sundays or other days by appointment for groups or birthday parties.
Mission: To preserve the history of American Railroading for people both old and young and just to go have fun with trains!
