Kyo Gallery continues to support Ukraine. Slava Ukraini!

Learn how Alexandria businesses are supporting Ukraine with special offerings.

Kyo Gallery supports peace in Ukraine.

To that end, we are proud to announce that currently on any artwork sold at our gallery and online at www.kyogallery.com, all gallery profits will be donated evenly to both UNICEF Ukraine and Centrum Adopcyjne "Ada" (Ada Foundation).

Both these non-profit organizations are bringing much needed support and relief to the most vulnerable victims of this illegal war of aggression, and we thank them.

As Covid starts to ease its hold with effective vaccines starting to be distributed effectively here in the United States and the local DMV area, we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Now that we are moving closer to a time of not just the "new" normal, but also a slow return to the "old" normal, Kyo Gallery has several changes and programs in store for reopening now slated for the Winter season!

We continue to schedule private showings with strict safety guidelines, you can schedule now at [email protected] or by calling 571-970-4388.

Look for more updates soon and please stay safe, wear a mask, get vaccinated, and we'll see you all very soon!

06/24/2020

As Virginia moves into a Phase 3 reopen on 7/1/20, Kyo Gallery will continue to remain closed during this time.

Erring on the side of caution, we will observe national and local trends to determine a proper time to open our physical gallery space. Suffice to say, with the nation and neighboring southern states struggling to contain a reemergence of the first wave of Covid, we are worried that there has been little preparation done for a second wave later this fall and winter.

Factoring in the physical space of the gallery, the lack of robust testing in the Virginia area and the accessibility we offer online, while we look forward to opening soon, our first priority will always be to the safety of our visitors, collectors and Kyo team.

To that end, please stop by kyogallery.com to view all art and artists. In the meantime, stay safe and stay artsy!

06/10/2020

Even as Virginia moves into Phase 2 of reopening, Kyo Gallery will remain closed through June.

There are troubling trends in infections and hospitalizations since Memorial Day throughout the nation. With an extended first peak and a second wave soon to follow this fall, we will continue to monitor all information and make the best decisions based on science and public health.

Remember to wear masks and follow all CDC and social distancing guidelines. In the meantime, we continue to showcase our art and artists online (www.kyogallery.com) and look forward to keeping everyone updated and opening soon!

Stay safe, stay engaged and stay artsy!

05/15/2020

Despite a partial reopen phase being implemented here in Virginia today, Kyo Gallery will continue to practice maximum safety standards and follow appropriate health recommendations fully through the end of the June and remain closed to the general public. At that point, we will again assess the situation on how to proceed.

We look forward to the time we can safely open our physical space to the general public, but the safety and well-being of our local community must come first. Until then, stay safe!

And to browse our amazing variety of art and artists, you can view our online marketplace at www.kyogallery.com.

04/01/2020

Our physical gallery remains closed to the COVID-19 crisis and we fully support all local and national social distancing and safety guidelines during this difficult time.

Since Old Town art lovers can’t experience the gallery in person, we’re bringing the gallery to you!

Partnering with the city's "ALX At Home" initiative, we are proud to launch: "Art : A Virtual Kyo Curation"!

During the “Kyo At Home” event, all DMV residents are eligible for a special 20% off sale across the entire site (use the coupon code: alxathome).

For any works purchased, Kyo offers free and safe local drop-off or pick-up for the 22314 zip code, and free shipping to areas outside the Alexandria area.

For works that are purchased from our special virtual curation, all gallery profits will be donated to local CDC efforts!

https://kyogallery.com/alx-at-home/

As Alexandrians and people across the globe are staying at home and practicing social distancing, all Old Town businesses are tapping into their creativity to find new ways to bring their businesses to you.

03/16/2020

Based on CDC and local Alexandria health preparedness guidelines in combination with Virginia's State of Emergency declaration, Kyo's physical gallery space will close for one month. We will continue to keep tabs on this growing pandemic as we make our future scheduling and event decisions.

To browse our amazing variety of art and artists, you can view our online marketplace at www.kyogallery.com.

During this time, we ask everyone to follow their local and national health official's instructions and take social distancing seriously. Stay artsy, stay educated, stay engaged, and stay safe!

03/03/2020

As part of the city-wide focus of the 100th anniversary of the Women's Right to Vote and Virginia’s recent passage of the Equal Rights Amendment, Kyo Gallery plans to honor and celebrate this momentous year with our exhibition “Suffrage in the Arts ” that will focus on both the struggles and accomplishments of this movement, both past and present.

Join us at the end of March through the Summer as we present a program full of history, symbolic imagery, and many artistic perspectives rooted in social equity and equality.

On-going Winter Exhibition: Humanities

“Humanities” explores the inner workings and ideas of what it means to be human, what it means to live life. The works presented reflect our hopes, dreams, fears, and anxieties, not just in our mind but the world around us. Kyo Gallery is excited not just to share an artistic story, but a very human one.

Art at Old Town and Abroad

Kyo Gallery is the newest addition to the trendy Alexandria Old Town Neighborhood and the first hybrid gallery in the area. The intimate and stylish gallery exhibits art from all around the world, with no limits on medium or style.

“The idea of Kyo is to bring a breath of fresh air to the art scene both locally and at large by providing access to the world of art, not just through our brick and mortar gallery, but also with a hybrid approach as we launch a global-scale web platform at the same time with kyogallery.com.” - Jason Longfellow, Kyo Gallery Director.
