Yay! The reception for Ray Pierotti's March through June Show is this Sunday June 30 from 2 to 5 at CARE gallery just outside Shellman. Come see great artwork and have interesting conversations. The driveway to CARE is on the left next to the tall cypress trees and the sign, a few blocks after the turn to Shellman.

It was a very crowded opening at the Albany Area Arts Council opening yesterday. I think there were more artists represented than ever and some delightful new work. Photography was inhibited by the large crowd (also noisy!). Sorry, no artist attributions at this time. I'll go back for better pictures and to get a more relaxed view of the work.

UPDATE ON Ray Pierotti.
He is home now and has good neighbors looking after him. (Of course he does; Gene is known by and loved by most of the Shellman population.)
New date for the gallery opening TBA.
The show is scheduled to be up thru July 24, 2024

Our very last meeting/holiday party is THIS THURSDAY! All you need to bring is a beverage, a friend and yourself. The Albany Area Artists Network will be there to tell us about their online database and sign up any artists who wish to be included. 7pm at Albany Area Arts Council.

FYI: canvas sale at Michael’s if anyone needs to stock up. Buy one, get 2 free. Best to order for store pick up or get the full 3 canvases. Store doesn’t recognize sale if not purchased in 3 but app does. Crazy. But worth the trouble

The show is open to all members who’ve paid 2023 dues. You can pay dues with your entry fee when you deliver the artwork (made within 3 years). What a great opening night reception for the 23rd Annual Southwest GA Fine Arts Exhibit at The Albany Area Arts Council. Such amazing local talent including GAGA members. Proud of Madye Madelyn Rivera Carter (1st place) in the painting category and Ray Pierotti (2nd place) in the painting category. Make sure you go by and see the exhibition if you missed it tonight
