On the day we initially opened the Hall of Fame, Dory and Marti Funk were among the first to tour the museum. Dory Funk, Jr. was selected for the HoF in 2022, and his induction speech was delivered by Ted DiBiase.
The legacy of Dory, Jr. will live on at the International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame where we proudly display his bronze plaque.

We join wrestling fans around the world in mourning the passing of the legendary Dory Funk Jr.

His contributions to the pro wrestling world pale in comparison to his talent, strength and simple love of wrestling.

Along side his brother Terry, Dory would wreak havoc in the ring capturing tag team championships wherever they traveled.

As a singles competitor, Dory held the most prized title in the industry, the NWA Championship for a staggering 1536 days, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest.

After his time in the ring came to an end, Dory shared his knowledge with anyone who had the passion to become a Professional Wrestler training generations of stars.

Dory joined us for the opening of the IPWHF and has been enshrined in our halls ever since.

Our hearts are with the Funk Family, friends and legions of fans.

Let’s set the record straight… The real “LaGreca Pink Robe” is NOT with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. It is proudly displayed at the International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. Recently, Dave LaGreca himself stopped by to visit and take some photos.
This robe is symbolic of the impact that fans can have on pro wrestling. Prior to Wrestlemania 40, there was a plan to have The Rock vs Roman in the main event. The fans revolted, because many wanted Cody to finish the story. LaGreca ranted… then out of nowhere, The Rock targeted LaGreca. Forced to respond to the “Cody Crybaby” moniker, while wearing this pink robe, LaGreca helped lead a revolution. He responded to The Rock as only he can… with the Busted Open Nation behind him. The fans demanded Cody vs. Roman. WWE listened… and what took place in Philadelphia was phenomenal! This robe is one of the most significant symbols of the effect that fans can have on wrestling.
