The Ten Broeck Mansion was in bloom this weekend!

Our 2026 Floral Show, Tea Tasting, and Music in the Mansion concert filled the Mansion with breathaking fresh florals and music to celebrate our region's rich and diverse history and culture. This event raised funds for our Education Center, supporting our mission to provide free and accessible arts, history, and humanities programs for our community. A special thank‑you to our presenting musicians, Melanie Chirignan (flute) and Dr. Darhon Rees‑Rohrbacher (Celtic harp), whose artistry brought the Mansion to life. Plus, we were delighted to welcome families for our free Flower Power program, which inspired art-making while exploring the Mansion filled with beauty.

How did this all happen?

Thanks to our 25+ volunteers whose time, talent, and kindness made this weekend possible. Interested in joining our volunteer team? Contact us — we are delighted to have you become involved.

Honoring the sacrifice of those who served our country this Memorial Day.

The Ten Broeck Mansion, home of Revolutionary War General Abraham Ten Broeck (1734–1810), stands as a reminder of the deep roots of military service in our community. Within the collections of the Albany County Historical Association, we preserve stories of veterans from the Revolutionary War through the 20th century. Featured here: WWII U.S. Navy Seabee Peter Irwin (1910–1944), Arbor Hill resident and WWII Gold Star Veteran. Learn more about his story, and others' via our digitized collections—available online free via our website—for your research and to honor their legacies.  On this Memorial Day, we extend our respect and gratitude to all who have served and sacrificed.  As a commnity-centered museum, we continue preserving and sharing their histories.

This Week at the Ten Broeck Mansion: our heartfelt appreciation to the City of Albany Department of General Services (DGS) for their generous donation of mulch and compost to help us care for our historic grounds.

With the enthusiastic support of community volunteers, we planted our red, white, and blue planters in honor of our nation's 250th, as our busy tour season continues. Our wisteria and viburnum are now at their peak — be sure to visit for our tours Thursday-Saturday. As we prepare for our Ten Broeck Floral Show & Tea Tasting, we extend our gratitude to our donors and sponsors, such as The Whistling Kettle. This event directly supports education at the Ten Broeck Mansion, helping us offer programs for families, schools, and our community. Get involved: volunteer in our gardens, welcome visitors, or help restore native plants. There is something for you at the Ten Broeck Mansion.
