Neurodoodle Art Workshop
With Guest Artist Mary Roesler

Join us for a relaxing and creative exploration of abstract design, pattern, and composition using watercolor and ink. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create two original 5x7 frameable watercolor greeting cards to take home.

What is Neurographic Art?
Neurographic art is a therapeutic and meditative drawing technique that helps reduce stress, manage anxiety, and promote mindfulness. By drawing freeform “neuro lines” and softening intersections, this practice engages both the conscious and subconscious mind transforming tension into a calm, focused state.

Developed by psychologist Pavel Piskarev in 2014, this scientifically grounded method is widely used for self-care and cultivating a sense of balance and inner peace.

Sunflower Study # 2 - created using Gouache.

Do you know that Gouache is an eco-friendly water based medium that is more friendly to users and technically different from traditional watercolor?

If you would like to learn how to work with gouache, I invite you to reach out to me!

A little bit of History about Gouache!
Date back to ancient Egypt and Greece, the term "gouache" was coined in 18th-century France to describe this medium. It evolved from 16th-century Italian guazzo, with modern, artist-grade gouache manufactured in tubes from the mid-19th century onward.

Middle Ages: Early opaque water-based paints using honey or tragacanth gum existed in Egypt and in medieval illuminated manuscripts.

16th Century: The term guazzo (meaning "mud") was used in Italy, initially referring to oil paint applied over a tempera base.

18th Century: The term "gouache" became common in France, and artists used it to add highlights to pastel drawings.

19th Century: Industrial production started, with tube-packaged allowing for easy, portable painting.
