We're excited to offer Toy Lab: a da Vinci-inspired Workshop Series for kids age 9 to 12 inspired by our newest exhibit, Toys: The Inside Story. During each of the four sessions, we'll investigate some the inner workings of toys. We'll tinker with circuits to design simple creations that light-up and explore how both linkages and cams are used to produce movement. Finally, we'll put these components together to build some Toys-inspired contraptions of our own.

The workshop will be held over four Thursdays, March 26 - April 16, from 4:15 - 5:45. A $40 fee covers all four sessions. Learn more and register through our website. Registration is limited to 12 students. http://bit.ly/toylab2020

Yesterday our Kindergarteners were visited by Barbara Stella of the Discovery Museum in Acton, who brought along a Traveling Science Workshop. Our burgeoning engineers invented their own toys using household products, and learned about the force of gravity by making their own predictions and observations. This enrichment event was sponsored by TESPTO.

Do you have old or broken toys to get rid of? We need them and would love to take them off your hands--soon!!

We are offering a cool program next Tuesday called Tinkering with Toys: Toy Take Aparts Jr., where visitors can discover the inner workings of common toys by taking them apart and exploring what is inside. But, we need more toys to take apart!

We can accept almost anything with visible screws, including mechanical toys with moving parts, remote-controlled toys, toy vehicles with removable parts, electronic or musical toys.

Unfortunately, we can NOT accept: dolls/figurines, stuffed animals, building blocks, ride-on or other large-scale toys.

If you can bring your donations to the museum before next Tuesday February, 4th, it will be much appreciated by our enthusiastic visitors! Thank you!

This means it's uniquely suited to help a child feel more confident as well as think the thoughts of self-confidence (e.g. I am good at this, I am improving, Wow, I did it)." -Maureen Healy via Romper

Fresh Start Food Gardens is counting down the days to the potato harvest in Discovery Woods. Come help us dig for potatoes in the new raised beds next Sunday at 1:00 or 1:30. Guaranteed fun for kids aged 3-103! Can't wait to see you.
WOW! Have you grown up in the years since my daughter dragged me to you back around 2000-2004. Every Saturday, we had to, unless a soccer game interfered, visit you for what usually was a 3 hour visit. I admit, I liked it too. Except for my daughter feeding me three meals at the upstairs kitchen... She is grown and in her 20's now but she sure remembers you. Thank you for all those memories.
We had such a fun time today at the Discovery Museum! The camping room was a fave!
