Our mission is to display, celebrate, and support the history and culture of Abita Springs. Annual events include our En Plein Air art exhibition and the Abita Springs Busker Festival. We are usually open Fridays and Saturdays 10am - 4pm and Sundays during the Farmers Market 11am - 3pm. Handicapped accessible. (985) 871-5327. ilable. Abita Springs Park is in the town's Historic District, along the Abita River where Choctaw Indians settled. It hosts diverse music and and water festivals. Open all year, the Park offers the Museum, an historic pavilion, a bike trail, amphitheater, covered picnic areas, a splash pad, and a children's playground. Within a short drive, you can tour the Abita Brewery and the UCM Museum (a.k.a. the Abita Mystery House), the Nature Conservancy's Abita Creek Preserve, and golf courses.

Our Story

We are a quaint history and art museum. Our mission is to celebrate, display and support the history and culture of Abita Springs. We host several annual events including the Abita Springs Push Mow Mardi Gras Parade, the Whole Town Garage Sale, the En Plein Air fine art exhibition, the Abita Springs Busker Festival, and the Louisiana Bicycle Festival. Open Fridays and Saturdays 10am - 4pm, Sundays noon - 4pm. Admission is free. Handicapped accessible. (985) 871-5327 Abita Springs Park is in the town's Historic District, along the Abita River where Choctaw Indians settled. It hosts many festivals and is open all year. In the park are the Museum, a bike trail, amphitheater, an historic pavilion, covered picnic areas, a splash pad, and a children's playground. Within a short drive, you can tour the Abita Brewery and the UCM Museum (a.k.a. the Abita Mystery House), eat at one of three restaurants within two blocks, view the Nature Conservancy's Abita Creek Preserve, or play a round of golf.
