Award-winning illustrator Shawn Harris is headed to Abilene this October. Join us for an evening with Shawn Harris as he shares about the relationship between folk music and picture books. Enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres while listening to excerpts from books by authors such as Randolph Caldecott and Margaret Wise Brown with music performed by Shawn Harris intertwined.

You might have noticed trimmed trees, a power washed building, and new banners, but our favorite improvement is the Little Free Library! Thank you to the Taylors for this beautiful restoration.

In honor of Dolly Parton, we are encouraging visitors to come in and purchase a book at 20% off for us to donate to local schools in our area.

In the meantime, now is a great time to clean out your kiddos’ bookshelves and help us stock the free library!

Shawn Harris books have made it to the NCCIL shelves at the library! Stopping in at the library is a great way to check out his books before he comes to the NCCIL in October. You are not going to want to miss meeting Shawn Harris October 8th,9th or 10th!!
