Small-town girl turned social media star! ❤️

We loved having True Crime with Megan visit The ATTA with her kids!

With nearly 2 million followers across her platforms, Megan has built an incredible audience—and we’re especially proud that she has roots right here in our region (and an ATTA connection through her mom, Ms. Sandy Armstrong!). 😊

Take a look at her visit for a fun little preview of some of the hands-on exhibits waiting for you at The ATTA Library of STEM & History. 🔬⚙️🚀

Thanks for sharing The ATTA with your audience, Megan! ❤️

✈️ Science, Technology, Engineering and Math is in everything, especially airplanes and helicopters! 🚁

We had such a fun day celebrating National Aviation Day at the U.S. Army Aviation Museum at Fort Rucker! Judging by these smiles, the kids had a pretty great time, too. 😊

A big thank you to Ms. Sandy Armstrong for doing such a wonderful job engaging the kids with hands-on science experiments and making learning FUN! If you’ve never visited the U.S. Army Aviation Museum, it is truly a Southeast Alabama treasure and a wonderful opportunity for kids and adults alike to explore the history, science, technology, and innovation behind Army Aviation.

We’re also proud to have the The Army Aviation Museum Foundation as a Southeast Alabama STEM Partner, helping us inspire the next generation right here in our region. ❤️ For example, they attended Dream it, Do it Day! where they met Auburn's new Geo Explorer Labs team that came to today's event!

“Did You Know?” The largest battle of the Revolutionary War, the Battle of Long Island, kicked off simply because Patriot soldiers spotted British troops attempting to steal watermelons! Drop in the comments anything quirky or interesting you know about our Nation's Wartime history.

Visit us tomorrow to explore regional history through our new Scavenger Hunt, the touchscreen timeline, the Citizens of Inspiration touch table, Movie Theater Special, Virtual Reality Specials (Ages 12+), Research Room, and don't forget the Gift Shop!

The young students had a blast at our Intro to Vex Robotics Camp! Now we are excited to welcome the older students.

6th-7th Graders, come join us at the ATTA Library for some exciting and hands-on Vex Robotics coding and programming! In this camp, you will learn how to program Vex Robots to navigate challenging obstacle courses, complex mazes, and robotics games. Using VexCode, you’ll progress from simple loops to mastering a winding labyrinth of sharp corners and dead ends as you guide your robot to safety. We will also explore the world of 3D modeling within the free online website TinkerCAD.

No prior coding or design experience is required. Whether you are a total beginner or a budding tech enthusiast, this is the perfect place to build new skills, solve puzzles, and get creative. Spaces are limited, so secure your spot today!

You can now register on our website: https://www.the-atta.org/event-details/coding-camp-1

In celebration of America’s 250th Birthday, and in proud partnership with the American Legion Bradley-Keller Post 119, the ATTA is honored to recognize and celebrate the brave men and women who have served in our Armed Forces.

We invite you to help us pay tribute to our local heroes by purchasing a “Hometown Hero” banner — proudly displayed throughout downtown Abbeville — and by scheduling an appointment to have your Veteran’s story digitally preserved in our Research Room for future generations.

At The ATTA, we are deeply proud of the courage, sacrifice, and dedication shown by the members of our community who answered the call to serve and helped protect the freedoms we cherish today.
Stop by Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or email [email protected] to schedule your appointment.

Join us as we honor our heroes, preserve their stories, and celebrate America’s enduring spirit of freedom.

And may God Bless America!
