We loved celebrating local educators at Teacher Appreciation Day at The ATTA! 💙

Teachers enjoyed PD with Scott Mains from Learning Blade, learning about free STEM, AI, and coding tools available to all Alabama teachers.

Big thanks to Kava Coffee Exchange for the amazing drinks & treats — and to Miss Abbeville 2025-2026 Scarlett Law, plus volunteers Fallon and Auburn Turner, for making the day extra special! 👏🍎💻

A late but heartfelt THANK YOU to all the amazing volunteers who helped out at The ATTA on a rainy Yatta Abba Day! ☔️🌟 Your energy, kindness, and helping hands made the day a joyful success inside our walls, even with the weather outside.

We’re especially grateful to Miss Abbeville and Little Miss Abbeville, who brought smiles and support as they helped us welcome families and guide children through our STEM activities. Their sweet presence made the day even more memorable!

Whether you were leading hands-on learning, greeting guests, or jumping in wherever needed—we are so thankful for you. You helped create a space where curiosity and community could shine, rain or shine.

Thank you for being part of The ATTA family! 💛

The Southeast Alabama STEM Learning Ecosystem and The ATTA Library of STEM & History are proud to announce that Miss Abbeville 2025, Scarlett Law, has chosen STEM education as her official platform during her reign.
As a former student intern with The ATTA, Scarlett has witnessed firsthand the power of hands-on STEM learning and its impact on students in rural communities. Now, she is using her platform to advocate for greater access to STEM education across Southeast Alabama.
Scarlett’s commitment to STEM aligns perfectly with the mission of The ATTA and the Southeast Alabama STEM Learning Ecosystem, which work collaboratively to provide innovative STEM learning experiences, teacher training, and workforce development opportunities for students across the region.
Throughout the year, Miss Abbeville will engage in a variety of initiatives, including:
• School Visits & Community Events: Hosting STEM demonstrations and speaking to students about careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.
• Social Media Awareness Campaigns: Sharing STEM success stories, hands-on experiments, and digital engagement opportunities through The ATTA’s platforms.
• Partnerships with Local Businesses & Organizations: Collaborating with industry leaders to connect students with real-world STEM experiences.
• Advocacy for STEM Programs & Resources: Meeting with educators, policymakers, and community stakeholders to promote investment in STEM education.
“I’ve always been passionate about STEM, and The ATTA has played a huge role in shaping my appreciation for science and innovation,” said Scarlett. “Through my role as Miss Abbeville, I want to show students—especially those from small towns like mine—that they have endless opportunities in STEM.”
Scarlett will represent Abbeville in the upcoming Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant, bringing her message of STEM advocacy to a broader audience. The ATTA and the Southeast Alabama STEM Learning Ecosystem are thrilled to support her efforts and look forward to seeing the impact of her advocacy over the next year.

We love our teacher friends at The ATTA!

Teachers can play a pivotal role in shaping students' futures, by instilling knowledge during their time in the classroom and inspiring them to pursue fulfilling STEM-based careers that can transform our world.

Currently, only 12.9% of the Southeast Alabama population holds a bachelor’s degree, compared to the national average of 22.4%. This presents a critical opportunity for educators to prepare students for high-paying careers in bioscience, engineering, aviation, and advanced manufacturing—fields that are shaping the future of our economy.

As educators, they play a key role in connecting students to these opportunities by:
📚 Encouraging STEM learning and technical skills at all grade levels
🏫 Strengthening college and career readiness programs
🤝 Partnering with local businesses for internships, apprenticeships, and hands-on training

By aligning education with workforce demands, we ensure our students are prepared for in-demand, high-paying careers while driving economic prosperity in Southeast Alabama. Together, we can build a future where education fuels opportunity.
