It is always an incredible aesthetic pleasure to try my artisanal ceramics in a live, finished interior.
Especially when these are engaging, stylish, and character-filled projects by my long-time acquaintance, the charismatic architect .naida .

This space is all about silence and seclusion: fresh air, a pine forest outside the window, the coolness of stone on the walls, and the unexpected warmth of the orange sink.
I love this metaphor: delicate flowers in the brutal, weather-beaten forms of the ceramics. It’s a dialogue of contrasts, highlighting both the elegance and the primal nature of the materials.

And, as I see it, my sculptural vases have become a fitting unifying element. This element of handiwork among the strict lines and geometry adds coziness, making the environment feel more inhabitable.

True art is always a dialogue between space, materials, and the viewer. I am glad my pieces have become part of this conversation.

Potter, do you have a cat living with you too?
I recently came across the fact that most (almost all) ceramists have cats.
It got me thinking about it. And realised that both cats and ceramics are sophisticated and graceful, yet quite natural, true. It's hard to explain, but cats give off a kind of living energy from within, which you feel when you are doing ceramics and creating objects from clay.

The cats sometimes lie passively like a slab of clay and sometimes playfully like a hump turning on a potter's wheel. At times they are as capricious as a difficult ceramic glaze. Or caressing, like touching the surface of a chawan after a successful firing.

And today's matcha bowl is like my cat Dina. Grey, silent, slightly inaccessible and self-sufficient. But it shows surprising tactile properties if you find an approach to it.

Capacity 680ml/23oz.
Diameter 12,3cm/4.8", height 10cm/3.9".

Dark stoneware, grey matt glaze. Fired at 1240°C (cone 7).

It's amazing how beauty sometimes appears all around us completely out of nowhere.
Pomegranate grains (awareness?), carelessly thrown with a couple of green leaves on a simple white ceramic plate (universal field of potentiality?) are suddenly formed into an incredible composition.
My heart sinks in a beautiful feeling of harmony and the wonderful structure of this world, and my feet run for the camera.

At such moments you feel that you don't need anything else, just to spin in this dance of balance and sufficiency of everything, calmness and dynamics at the same time. Presumptuous attempts to capture it on a photo in an agonising search for a suitable angle last endlessly ...

And now, having saturated with this aesthetic ecstasy, the mind wakes up with a tedious question: "What next?".
And so, having taken a deep breath from the experience, I go to create ceramics again.

The shape of a matcha bowl is a special art. It affects not only how comfortable it is to prepare matcha tea in, but also how the bowl feels in the hand. The shape, weight, colour, the nature of the ceramic surface all determine the experience of interacting with the ceramic during the tea ceremony, even if it is a quick morning tea before breakfast.

Just like people, matcha bowls come in many forms - heavy and light, straightforward and multi-meaning, prim and cheerful, life-dancing and down-to-earth.
But the most interesting thing, of course, is how at different stages of life and situations one wants to make completely different chawans, depending on one's own feeling. Right now I realised that even the time of year and the presence of sun outside influences this.
Ceramics is truly a wonderful world!

And today's bowl is all about lightness. A bowl-dance of life and a bowl-rotation around your own axis. A bowl of optimism on a sunny spring morning.

Capacity 600ml/20.3oz.
Diameter 12cm/4.7", height 9,5cm/3.7".

Dark brown stoneware, satin matt glaze. Fired at 1240°C (cone 7).

Although quite warm, this winter so rarely spoils us with clear blue skies. Cold grey seems to hang in the air, stubbornly filling day after day. At such times it is great to surround ourselves with colour, coloured objects, and especially coloured ceramics.

Today I present to you just such a chawan. Chawan-sky. Chawan-sea. Chawan-summer.
During the creation, I sensually hand-applied slip clay on the walls of the bowl with a special spatula. As a result, a peculiar, authentic relief was born on the walls of the chawan. The foot is hand-cut and has 6 facets.
The shape of the curve of the bottom is designed in such a way as to facilitate the process of whipping matcha with a chawan whisk chasen, even for those who are not very experienced in it. In this way, the thick and flavourful green tea foam is produced easily and effortlessly.

Capacity 500ml/17oz.
Diameter 13cm/5.1", height 8cm/3.1".

White stoneware, satin matt glaze. Fired at 1240°C (cone 7).

Now available and ready for worldwide shipping.
