The house is a masterpiece of architectural evolution. Originally a medieval manor, it was transformed into a grand Palladian mansion primarily by the 3rd Duke of Beaufort in the 1740s, with significant contributions from the renowned architect William Kent. Its striking facade, topped by elegant cupolas, overlooks a vast deer park and meticulously landscaped gardens.

Of course, the house is globally synonymous with two things: Badminton House Horse Trials and the sport of badminton itself. Legend has it that the modern game of badminton was invented in the house's Great Hall during a rainy day in 1863, when the Duke’s children decided to play a version of battledore and shuttlecock indoors. Today, the estate continues this sporting tradition by hosting the world-famous Horse Trials every spring, drawing elite riders and thousands of spectators from across the globe.
